Reviews of Days Inn by Wyndham Arlington/Washington DC
"This is John & Kathy Phillips. We just stayed in Room 112. I forgot my Kindle and have authorized the Hotel to give it to someone in housekeeping. We were too far away when I noticed it missing and would hate for it to be thrown away when someone can use it. I have deregistered it from my Amazon account already. Please enjoy it!!! "Tapestry is falling off in many places, uncovering patches of mold. You can smell it coming in. That said, the bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well. DC is not far, as we elected to walk 20 minutes to the subway. From there, it's 15-30 min to most downtown subway stations. The walls are unfortunately very thin and we had a couple yelling in the next room from 6 am to 9 am. Telling staff did nothing, but we asked to change room and they agreed. They might try to give you a double-bed room even if you booked a king-size. That said, all you need is to insist and one will magically become available. The price was low, but it was not to our satisfaction."
"I stayed here for two nights with my two kids. The hotel is very old. The wall paper was peeling off the walls and it smelled musty. It aggravated my allergies. I kept the window open while we were there but closed it when we left and at night because there’s no screen. The room was clean. I checked the bed for bugs and the sheets were clean, although very scratchy. If I had to do over again, I’d bring my own blankets. I didn’t try to turn on the heat so it did get a little chilly. Bathrooms were clean enough. I wore flip flops around in the room only because I don’t know how clean those carpets are. My biggest complaint was a lack of a microwave in the room. I had to send to oldest child to the lobby to heat up my baby’s bottles every time. A little inconvenient but not a big deal. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. There’s a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. I walked to the Chinese restaurant down the street at night with my children and felt absolutely safe. Great location and close proximity to every thing in DC. I’d stay here again if I absolutely had to but wouldn’t be my first choice."
"Gave us a twin when reservation was for a queen. Told us we could cancel and leave if we didn't like it. Breakfast was fine. There was no cool water available to drink at breakfast. The place is pretty run down. It looks like it's been twenty years since it was profitable. Might not make it another ten. Would not return."
"I stayed here for two months - primarily attracted by the reasonable prices - and it was absolutely fine - the staff are great (especially the lovely housekeeping team), the air con and hot water worked fine, and the neighbourhood is nice (it's a very pleasant 20 min walk through a peaceful and pretty residential area to either Courthouse or Clarendon metro, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance). The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was pretty good (cereals, toast/bagels, juices, fruit, hot eggs and bacon/sausage) for the price. The only downsides were that the wifi only worked in the lobby, the pool was out of action (and looked to have been for some time), and I was occasionally startled by gunfire from the military facility across the road. I would happily stay here again."
