Reviews of 1 Hotel Central Park
"Hotel 1 is even more incredible than I imagined. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is so friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, and the location is perfect! I have read some reviews with concerns about bathroom privacy, but the glass in the middle of the room is not the shower. It is the bathroom wall, but it has a curtain to pull closed, and there is a pocket door. The bathroom is private. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and its staff. From the front desk to the concierge to the house drivers.. everyone was so friendly and helpful!! If you are in the fence about hotels, just book it. You will be glad you did."
"overall decent. in a pretty busy area on a very busy intersection so if you're wanting a quiet stay this isn't for you. the rooms were really nice but i think for the price the overall experience and service wasn't quite up to par. also the lobby is quite small and always very busy. the restaurant downstairs was decent but overpriced."
"We spent a couple days here prior to Christmas and enjoyed every minute of it! The staff will do anything to assist you and make your stay more enjoyable. The rooms are beautiful and fresh leaving no details overlooked. We had joining rooms, both were well appropriated with housekeeping twice daily. Both rooms had plenty of towels, robes, toiletries. The mini bars were well stocked, though I would have liked to get a can of soda...seems getting a Coke is hard to do! We had breakfast at Jams one morning, very good. In addition, they organized a car to and from the airport. All in all, a fantastic place to stay close to many sites making it definitely on the list to do next time."
"The number one rule of customer service is to offer options. When I tried to find an alternative to my unacceptable room, I was essentially told to “suck it up” because no option was offered after an hour of waiting for a solution. I booked this room several months ago for a birthday trip with my son. Over a week prior to our arrival, I emailed back and forth to confirm my stay and requested accommodations. First, when I arrived after check-in time (about 4:15 pm), my room was not ready. Then, none of my special requests were provided - no connecting room, two beds, bathtub , and quiet room. I booked a suite and couldn’t even get a quiet room? We are next to the cleaning closet and hear housecleaning in and out until late at night and again early in the morning. The bathroom is small, the shower is microscopic (and I’m pretty small) and there is no bathroom insulation so your room companion can hear EVERYTHING going on in the bathroom AND see it (it’s a glass room with a curtain for privacy). I have stayed in many NYC high-end hotels, and 1 Hotel was highly recommended by a local friend. For $1,200/night plus tax, I’d expect much more. Even at a Hampton Inn, I get a better bathroom. I got an apology and a reduced room rate from Marlon, but just know, this is not a high-end hotel. I’d rather have what I thought I paid for."
"I've stayed in 1 before and everyone knows it's a great hotel, what I want to point out is the incredible concierge service at this particular location!! Lorenzo, the concierge went above and beyond what you would expect from a great concierge. I had forgotten my contact lenses at home, I sent him a copy of my prescription from the airport. By the time I was at the hotel, he had sourced an extra pair for me. It was just incredible and I really really appreciate the time and effort that was put into making sure my stay was absolutely 100% amazing. Not to mention, I bugged him further when we ran late to dinner and he was able to make arrangements to change our dinner reservations at Nobu which is usually hard to do. THANK YOU LORENZO!!!"
