Reviews of Style Nails & Spa Inc
"I came to this salon yesterday to do a gel manicure and a basic pedicure. My nail tech was an older woman who couldn’t really understand my requests and what I was saying very clearly based on our language barrier. I felt I was really patient and explained the colors I wanted a couple times to her. I had wanted a lavender chrome color for my gel manicure (which was $15 more on top of the gel manicure of $35, I was ok with this since I get chrome nails elsewhere and they normally do charge extra for this). I didn’t have time to pick out my pedicure color yet but I started with the pedicure. I told my nail tech that I picked out a gel manicure color and would like a similar color that was not gel for my regular pedicure. I explained this to her a couple times and she seemed to get really short and frustrated with me but she picked out a color for me and started with the pedicure. The pedicure went fine except that during the nail clean up part, she was really aggressive with the cuticle clippers and I did wince a couple times but I didn’t say anything since I sensed her mood was bad and didn’t want to anger her further for any reason. When we moved on to the gel manicure, I walked over in the provided flip flops and she yelled at me to be careful when I WAS walking carefully over. It really felt like I was constantly angering her and doing something wrong. We started the gel manicure and she was also super aggressive with taking away the cuticle skin w the cuticle clippers that I was also wincing again. Once she started the gel process, she would paint and then use her thumb nail under the glove and dig in and scrape away the stray gel around my cuticle that she already cut down raw. I spoke out a bit during this while wincing and all she did was say sorry and continue going hard into it my cuticles. When we started the chrome process, she did a couple layers of clear gel as the base. Sometimes after the UV would cure these gel layers, there would be some stray gel that cured on my cuticles, and she would yet again go into my already raw cuticles and clip away the gel and my skin to correct her mistakes. After she applied the chrome and in between curing each hand, I looked at my nails and saw that the chrome was patchy. I know that chrome nails need to be evenly applied but when I took a closer look, I pointed out to her that they were patchy. She first yelled at me to “Don’t move!” but I still tried to explain that a finger looked super patchy. She then took a look and kept exclaiming that “no, not patchy, just the light!” but I know what I was seeing. She tried to gaslight me into saying that nothing was wrong so she didn’t have to redo anything. In a huff, she relented and redid my nail by using the dremel machine to mechanically shave down the gel. This part really hurt me since she was going super fast and hard and it felt like it was burning to the point that I pulled my hand back. She apologized and finished the chrome again. This was basically at the end of the appointment and I had also noticed many other nails were patchy but I didn’t want to deal with her attitude anymore so I just finished up the appointment and paid. Now, in the daylight, the chrome patches are quite visible to me on 5/10 nails. Photos are hard to tell all that’s patchy but in person with a close look, the chrome doesn’t cover the whole nail. But the beauty of chrome is that it is forgiving with mistakes. Suffice to say, I had a terrible and painful experience and will not be coming back. I’m sure other nail techs are different but I’m the one I had was definitely in a bad mood and it showed in her treatment of me and her work. I really tried to be nice and agreeable to the nail tech but this has been the most painful and frustrating nail experience that I’ve had."
"Very nice salon! Everyone seemed friendly, smiling and greeted us as soon as we walked in. The tech that provided our services was Kayla and she was very nice. Nice to chat with and did an amazing job on my eyebrows, my dip manicure and my husband's eyebrows too. She helped me find the perfect color Red and had patience while I selected. She took her time making my nails perfect and I was thrilled with the outcome. I would highly recommend her and the salon to anyone and found my new nail spot for sure!"
"It was my first time visiting this salon. I had a refill and pedicure. The nail techs worked nicely together and did an excellent job. The prices was good for the great quality of work. I'll definitely be back again."
"My mother and I went here after a long day visiting my brother at the ICU to relax. The service was great and friendly and fast. I got gel nails and gel pedicure. However, not even 5 days later, my gel nails started to peel off, which is really disappointing for the cost and time it took to do. My gel pedicure, for now, is fine."
"Great service, finally nails that are not thick and heavy. Vivian did a great job and not only listen to my request she offered suggestions that were very helpful. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere. Definitely going again."
