"I wanna start by saying this was my first time going to this salon as I have been going to the same salon/person for years but he has personal things going on which has kept him out of the salon so I need somewhere new for the time being. It’s small but the shop was clean , nails were nice &she did a great job which I will try again until whenever my guy is back working again.. the owner as well as my tech seemed cool , and I liked the music they were playing. My only issues were that one , the pedicure seat/bowl was cleaned before I came I’m pretty sure they just placed a new plastic wrap in the bowl. That’s on me tho because if I would’ve asked them to clean it I don’t get the vibe that they would’ve told me it’s already clean or treated me weird. And second..they don’t take cards and the ATM was out of service so I had to figure out how I was about to pay last minute. Ended up using cashapp which was the only option but I really don’t like that because if I didn’t have the money on my CA idk what I would’ve done as my CA does not let me connect my credit card to it & my debit card isn’t connected and I didn’t bring it with me to add on CA last minute because I barely use CA."
"I went here because a friend recommended me. The initial interaction over the phone with the salon manager was pleasurable. When I arrived I was greeted, and didn’t have to wait too long. The initial evaluation of the space was disheveled. Any time you you are offering an intimate setting the lance should be deep cleaned and tidied up daily, or every half hour between clients. The older women who did my pedicure was okay, seemed to speed through the service. I know it’s money to be made, but every encounter should be a full service experience and not a preview. Once my toes were polished, I smudged my big toe trying to check if to see if they were dry. Before anyone says anything like “you should have got gel, why would I do that when regular polish is like Fort Knox I tried to get the attention of the older woman who performed the service, but she kept looking at me and looking away with an annoyed look on her face ( maybe she was having a ruff day) Once I got her attention and gestured my foot ( because of the language barrier) She came over looked l down and walked away. Once she returned she just whipped off the polish that was smudged and painted over that section which left an indentation of her finger print and walked off. I was immediately annoyed my friend of suggested the place just happen to stop by and watched in disbelief also. I just said I won’t be back here because that’s the exactly the attitude that adds to the decline of peoples business. The Salon manager was really nice and she did fix my polish, but I explained to her when people are paying you want to be provided a quality service, and when you have people who don’t want to provide that makes it hard to retain costumers. She understood and also mentioned that it’s difficult to get people to step up."
"This is not a black owned salon. Not sure why it pops up as the 4th search result for 'black owned salon philadelphia'. Picking out the polish is inefficent. It isnt on a board, or a rack, or a book, its on these annoying rings scattered all around the store. They saw me 25 mins late for my appointment. They didn't clean the pedicure chair at all between clients, just threw in a new plastic wrap- no lysol no hand wipe nothing! & under my chair was all the old acyrlic and dust from a previous client. Otherwise super average job on the nails."
"I have been a customer for over 2 yrs and just went in today. With all the new requirements let me say this shop is ready! With signs posted at the front door to hand sanitizers at each station. I had a pedicure and my station was cleaned before I sat down, afterwards I was asked to wash my hands before sitting at the station for my full set and SNS powder dip. When my set was done I was asked to wash my hands once again. Then I sat at the lash station and had gotten my lashes done. The salon was well managed, I didn’t feel overwhelmed and if someone walked in without a mask they were asked to wear one. Only people getting services were allowed in the salon which made provided space for social distancing. Thanks NANA for a great experience! Highly recommend!!!!"
