"We love the doctors there and have been going there for 11 yrs (we have 3 kids). But, one of their receptionists is always in a bad mood and rude. I brushed it off the first time because people have bad days, but this last time was unacceptable and unnecessary. If you hate your job that much, find a new one. Don't take it out on the parents."
"We're a military family so we've seen a lot of pediatricians over the years and Bayshore is the best and my personal favorite!"
"We were patients a couple years ago. Most of the staff here were pleasant and they did what they could to squeeze us when my son was very ill. I had an unfortunate experience with Dr. Chiu, however. My then one year old son had just had ear tubes placed a few months prior tmeeting his new pediatrician, Dr. Chiu (a traumatic experience for him) and when Dr. Chiu tried to check his ears, he of course resisted. She called out in the hallway to a nurse for help to "hold him down" and said "he's wild. we need help". (Highly unprofessional). THEN one of her staff members incorrectly transcribed his immunization record and when I brought it to Dr. Chiu's attention, she brushed it off (instead of checking the original record I brought in to compare) and said that my son didn't have that particular vaccine because they must "do things differently in Japan". (for context, we were stationed on a base in Japan receiving care from US medical staff). So my son was double vaccinated with the same vaccine due to staff oversight and my concerns being completely ignored by Dr. Chiu- throwing off his vaccination schedule. All this to say, I'm sure there's SOME quality care at this office but this is my negative experience with this particular provider."
"Normally I'd give them 4 stars, this Dr office has a long wait time. The reason for 1 star is that we moved 35 mins further and my baby saw a different Dr twice, that Dr shutdown so I tried scheduling back at Bayshore and they said since she's seen another Dr they were unable to take my baby back. This makes zero sense. Lady was rude and hung up on me."
"With all of the children they see I'm amazed there aren't more reviews! We've been going to Bay Shore Pediatrics for over 8 years now. We like them. Certainly, life isn't always perfect, but these doctors care about the kids. They always manage to fit us in quickly when the kids are sick. Even when we walked away feeling like a doctor made the wrong call (sending us to the ER with an infant...the ER was NOT prepared to deal with an infant, hurt her, scared her, and ultimately sent us home with nothing to show for the time wasted), the decision was conservative with our baby's best interest at heart. It was overly conservative in my opinion - an honest mistake. Not our regular Dr, but the one who was available right away. It seems to me that Bay Shore Pediatrics has a doctor for everyone. Some people probably prefer the conservative approach, go to the ER or see a specialist or get tested as soon as an abnormality has been observed. Some of us prefer to wait and see if things work themselves out as the kids grow, until we reach a point where it looks like things aren't working themselves out. Then go to the ER or find a specialist or whatever is needed. It must be hard for the doctors, trying to do what's best for the kids, but also make sure the parents are comfortable with the service provided. Dr Skolnick and Dr Singh have been seeing my babies since the day they were born. We have seen Dr Chiu for many sick visits. I think they're all excellent doctors who care about the kids and want to do what's best for them. We drove 45 minutes to take our kids to Bay Shore Pediatrics because we felt these doctors provided the best care for our kids, and that was worth it. We eventually bought a house that was closer."
