Mona is a delight, so friendly and sweet, as are her daughters, Violet and Aurora. Breakfast was delicious and specially prepared to meet my husband's dietary needs. "A year ago my daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely home away from home when we were in town for the pony swim. The owner and her daughters were so warm and welcoming even before we arrived. I had specific dietary needs and they went above and beyond to accommodate my diet. The food was delicious. A special treat was their unique ice tea blend. The rooms were tasteful and exquisite. Plush robes and slippers were even provided. Ask the owner about her jewelry collection! In conclusion, while I enjoyed seeing the pony swim, the highlight of my trip was staying at The River Gem!!! I highly recommend it."

"Yes the rooms are nice, the bed comfortable, the fixtures cute, yet still leaving room to unpack your own belongings! But everything is just so well thought out, so much attention to detail, so caring and thoughtful. We have had the pleasure of many B&Bs, and experienced many hosts on top of their craft, but this place goes up and beyond that. The personalized menus, the custom-made granola, the delicious breakfast. The host, attentive when needed, but not intrusive. Highly recommended if visiting within 100 miles of the area, and a place we look forward to going back to and being spoilt again."
