"For the price, can't be beat. And since it was around 100 a night in a place where the next cheapest was close to 200, I'll say we got a deal. You do, however, get what you pay for: Clean room, but no TV remote, no phone. Claustrophobic bathroom. Breakfast was 'continental,' which means tiny muffins, stale bagels, sad scrambled eggs and sadder sausage patties. Coffee was good. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. Stay there again? Yup, because one doesn't go to St. Michaels to hang around in a hotel room."
"You get what you pay for. Unfortunately I didn’t verify the room my husband booked on the Thursday night prior to a wedding weekend at the Oaks (where thankfully we were staying for the majority of our trip), and I should have. At first glance, the place seems quaint, but at check in I noticed the invoice was $68 and that it was. The room (though it read clean) was filthy, from shmutz on the bathroom floor, to a thick layer of dust on the noisy refrigerator. Not to mention the water - it reaked of sulfur / rotten eggs. And though I refused to even brush my teeth using anything but bottled water, my husband took a shower which made the room absolutely stink. Basically as lovely as the people are, don’t stay here."
"This is a converted motel and not an Inn. Rooms were clean and tidy. If you wanted to sit the only option was a hard plastic chair-only one. We asked an employee why the water smelled like rotten eggs. She replied that it is well water and they get it tested and is safe. She went on to say she wouldn't drink it. When asked where are the bottles of water in the room, she just shrugged. There are so few options in St Michaels they can get away with 250 per night rooms."
"This place is far from an Inn. It is run down motel. Front door has sign that says “Be Kind.” Property and staff are anything but kind. Front desk help sits behind plexiglass and doesn’t move quickly to help guests instead preferring to eat their bon bons. Rooms are worn. Bathroom shows signs of aging. The water in the shower is hard and smells. They offer coffee service but no tea bags. Oh…and they provide flies at no extra charge. But you better bring your own bug spray because there are no telephones in the guest rooms to call the front desk. What a dump. Especially at $200/night. Stay away! The place should burn down!"
"Great place, it's an older place and shows being well loved over the years. But room was clean and staff was really great. Real only complaint would be the fact the tiny toilet, as a larger person at 6'2 it was like using a kids training potty. So if this is a concern I'd recommend getting one of the handicap access rooms. And even though our booking said there was no breakfast they did have free breakfast. With a surprising selection. Hot eggs and sausage along with bread and beagles. Pastries fruit and other selections like yogurt and cereal. Coffee and juices."
