"We were recently faced with the difficult decision to say goodbye to a very special member of our family. As new citizens in this area we have struggled mightily to find a vet who will take new patients. I called almost every vet within 30 miles and was told time and again, "we aren't taking new patients". Even though this was a critically urgent situation, we were turned down every time. Except Johnstown Veterinary Associates. They were helpful, compassionate and very respectful to us and our princess. We met with Dr Assad and he agreed, Kitsu was at her end. With kindness and gentleness he helped us say goodbye to our little girl. We held her and loved her as she passed over the rainbow bridge. We are so sad, but extremely grateful to JVA for aiding us and making our sad day less painful. As an aside, they even coordinated with PALS, a local pet crematory to come collect her remains and take care of her so we could bring her home. Thank you Johnstown Veterinary and thank you PALS."

Dr. Assad has cared for Jezebel until the time that she went over the rainbow bridge. His compassion during that time was remarkable. Dr Hammer has cared for all four of our macaws since we have brought them home. Both of them take the time to ensure that you have the best means and education of caring for your pets. All of the office staff is very responsive to questions or concerns. They are highly recommend. Our newest addition a 10 week old bull mastiff will also be cared for by Johnstown vet Staff.
