Pediatric (Children's) Emergency & Inpatient Department at GBMC

"They are really the worst. Was there from 1:45am to 7:10am today September 25th 2023 and my son still never saw a doctor. They do not communicate at all. We went in for my sons cough and shortness of breathe and vomiting, I left at 7:10 to go somewhere else which I’m here now already in the back, seen the doctor and got an X-ray, just waiting on the results. It’s 8:49 now and I got here at 8!!! Worse Er I’ve ever been too. It’s not that they were busy, it’s that there was no communication after going to the waiting room and when you talk up everyone wants to have an attitude. The nerve!!!!!"

"6/26/2023 My 8 year old daughter and I had a pleasant experience. The doctor and nurses answered all questions and concerns I had. My daughter needed additional testing so the GBMC doctor had us transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital Pediatrics. GBMC pediatrics and JHH pediatrics gave excellent care to my daughter and she is home and doing well."

"My son was seen immediately upon arrival. He was in 10/10 abdominal pain and after some testing he needed emergency surgery to correct the issue. The quick response of everyone on the medical staff was stellar. Every single nurse and doctor was kind, took their time answering questions and really cared about the well being of our son, and us. A huge thank you to Dr. Neuman and the post operative nurses who were wonderful."

"I am extremely satisfied with the quality of service and care my 6 month old received during her 6 day stay here. Yes we had to wait about 2 hours to be seen, but that’s to be expected now. The doctors and nursing staff we interacted with were just wonderful - so patient and willing to answer all of our questions. I’m so grateful for Dr. Scott who was the first to pinpoint the problem quickly and start her on the correct medicine right away. A huge thank you to Nurse Cathy who just went over and beyond for us during our stay when my husband and I were both dealing with a stomach bug. Even though I hope we never have to return, I know we will utilize GBMC Pediatrics again for future needs."

"4 hours in waiting room before even seeing a pediatrician, 100% unacceptable service. Nurse behavior was ridiculous. Room was as dirty as one can imagine. I’m not sure if it was even hygienically cleaned ever. So disappointed with this painful experience while taking care of our love ones."
