"I was a patient during the years 2020-2021 for a whole year and the biggest issue at the time was the lack of Spanish interpreters for the patients and the lack of empathy from some staff especially during my time there where one staff (who I won’t name) was racially violent and verbally abusive to kids of color till this day I’m still recovering from the trauma this place inflicted on me yet many other people were great here I won’t deny the higher up didn’t believe the children half the time when they reported an issue or concern. (I apologize for the terrible English it’s not my native tongue)"
"I’ll give it four stars. I was there from August 2012- January 2013. If you’re like me, you’re allowed to view the website and was immediately drawn to the idea of seeing horses. Once you get there, you realize that’s not the case (edit: Okay, if you’re on campus going to school, you may get to see them more than someone who, like myself, chose Gettysburg instead). I think I saw them once and that was it, the Alpacas I saw twice. Every other outside event was either walking the circle, headed to the bus stop (I chose to go to Gettysburg High rather than the school on campus. That was my highlight of my stay), or having to go into the school on campus for lunch due to Gettysburg not having school on certain days (mostly snow days I think). I wasn’t in Zion, I was in the building to the right of it (if looking at the homes). Life in the home wasn’t too terrible. Stay out of trouble and you won’t cause trouble. Those who got in others business were met with hands, yelling, etc from the other girls. Multiple runaway events too. I stayed to myself, focused on homework, and did what I had to do to get out (in due to depression/suicidal thoughts and the short term inpatient stays didn’t help). I liked the staff there. Never had an issue with any of them. Wasn’t a huge fan of the therapist but I liked her bunny though. Probably because of the diet I was on so couldn’t have seconds but other than that she wasn’t bad. Weekends were saved for cleaning the home so each of us had a part we had to clean (stairs, windows, floors, dishes, etc). It works if you do what you need to do and it’s not a bad place to be. It just becomes a place that’s good for the memories but not one you want to return to. And Tara, if you read this, I think about you on occasion and hope that your situation got better. You’re the only name I remember from there due to your story and why you were there. Take care."
"In my time at Hoffman homes though only for a little over two months, I've grew a bound with staff and some of my peers ., shout out to my fav staff Mis V. Miss Stella. Mis Ashley and more And Mis Rubeck is possibly one of the most caring super visers I've met. All though when leaving this placement I left with more trauma and questions then I did upon entering"
"Bunch of cry babies that left terrible reviews. Not a single person that left a review seems accountable for their own actions. I was there from 2007-2008 after many other treatment facilities for my anger issues. I came back to public school in 2010 junior and HS wrestling and other circular activities. Have not been back to any place like this or jail. Some staff I didn't like there but most were great people. There will always be bad apples in any career. You can't blame the business for staffs actions or your own like so many of the reviews"
