"I have had nothing but the best experience at MedPeds. I have been going there for 12 years and I have the most kindest, gentlest, caring physician there is. Her bedside manner exemplifies what it means to be a top notch physician. She is very observant and attentive. She listens to all of your concerns and even follows up on previous concerns. I have had no real issues and the nurse practitioner that I see when my doctor isn’t available is great as well. The older front desk staff knows the protocols of the office, but like any office when it expands it’s going to have some growing pains. I definitely would not ding the doctors because of the staff though because of a few bad apples in my honest opinion."
"The original founders/practitioners were/are amazing! It is for them that i stick to this practice. The administrative staff are however, total disappointment. Today I called regarding a billing issue as the lab that they have in their practice is billing me directly for the fact that one of their new providers are not set up in the insurance system. The insurance refuses to pay the bill as the doctor is not a recognized practitioner for the practice. I am being asked to fax or mail a copy or drop in a copy of the 'bill' when I said, is there an email I can scan a copy to? answer is no this is not billing related...OK i am being billed $1200 because Medpeds does not have a validated practitioner in the CareFirst network and this is not billing related...The administrative staff are RUDE! my friends left the practice, 5 members, due to the lagging of this practice for providing courteous administrative staff, newer physicians have no experience and providing poor diagnosis and overall unavailability of appointments. I am thinking to switch as well, I just love Dr. Rosenstock ! only thing holding me back...definitely on the edge after today."
"I love Dr. Seth Eaton his professional, knowledgeable and caring manner is the reason I have relied on & believed that this place would meet all my medical needs. However, yesterday I left work for my appointment in a timely manner but inadvertently took an exit that put me in the opposite direction on 495. By the time I could take an exit it was 12:05 before I was headed back in the right direction so i called to ask if I could keep coming even though I would be late. After checking they said it should not be a problem. I held on for 8 minutes before my call was answered (now 12:13) and my ETA at that point was about 9 minutes however after finding a parking space to actual arrival was 15 minutes. I started the sign-in process at 12:32 and I was called by name to stop sign-in and come to the front desk. The staff member then informed me that I was too late and the doctor was unable to see me until the end of her shift. I was visibly upset because I had encountered a lot of interruptions in traffic and was already stressed by the time I arrived but then to no avail. I did not have enough energy left to try to come back after work only to face the same fate if the commute was as difficult in rush hour. I declined the offer to schedule for 5:30 or even the next day, realizing I may have the same set of circumstances since I am subject to the time constraints of my own job. At that moment I realized that even though I have been a patient for over 20 years, I felt like just a number and that I might as well use an Urgent care facility."
"It was 5 stars when KP was there . Truly saddened by Kathryn Penn’s departure, however super happy that she can enjoy her retirement . I’ve been her patient since 2012, which is about 10 years. It’s quite difficult to find a great provider that takes their time, invests in your concerns, and is mindful of your requests . I saw Dr. Mitra, a few weeks ago and my decision was based on seeing her last year when Kathryn Penn was out. She was very sweet. She still is very sweet, however it seemed like I was in the room by myself despite her being there. Maybe it was a bad day, but I did feel rushed . I requested a Pap smear , but she refused based on guidelines , however I believe it should be up to the patient as it was covered under my insurance. I would’ve liked her to acknowledge why I was requesting this or a dug a bit deeper, but apparently she didn’t have enough time. There were a couple more instances where I felt as a provider she should’ve taken more initiative, but I think this practice may be more concerned about quantity and not quality . A physical should be 1 hour. I believe my appointment was 20 minutes . Another concern of mine was getting a message that my lab results were all Normal. However when I looked at them , they were not . I didn’t receive any guidance or medical advice based on these abnormalities. Either these providers don’t have time or they just do it care . Either way this practice is no longer for me, and I’m almost inclined to speak to Janet, the office manager . Wish me luck, because if this is the work culture put forth , I doubt I have any results."
