Reviews of Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center
"On one of the worst days we could have imagined, the staff and Dr were exceptional. If we compare it to a human ER they were very fast they brought her in did several tests and arrived at the diagnosis we were most afraid of. They euathanized her for us and gave us as much time as we wanted to say good bye. They were very compassionate and caring. We arrived at 2:40pm and left at 5:40pm, the reviews I saw complaining about how long it took I don't think were fair. We've taken my mother in law to the ER and been there 6+ hours more than once. I can't say enough good things about this place and highly recommend it in times of need. Today we got a condolence card from them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"Would absolutely recommend this vet to others. Brought my puppy in that was having a horrendous allergic reaction to who knows what, and the staff here was very kind and communicative. Although I did wait in the parking lot for my puppy for quite some time, it was a Sunday evening and they had advised me they had other emergencies inside- but kept me updated. Aside from my wait, we had a great visit. Hopefully I never will need to return (because no one ever wants a pet emergency), but if I have one, we’ll be returning!"
"WORTH THE READ. I normally do not post negative reviews, but I was disgusted by the behavior I was met with at this ER. I found a dog running along the I-90 just over the NY/PA border yesterday and looked for a place to see if she had a microchip. She was a very hyper dog and barked at everyone she saw except me. She ran right into my arms and must have been outside for days if not weeks. When I got to the vet, a tech came out to check if she was chipped. I opened my car door and grabbed the leash I had gotten her and she darted out towards the tech. I grabbed her so fast that I wouldn't know if she was excited or angry. She was barking and the tech was calling her a nasty dog and went inside to get a muzzle (this I am not opposed of, I understand it is for safety). Not only did she call this dog nasty, make me get the muzzle on her MYSELF, but she proceeded to say "I would just take her back to the I-90," implying I just leave her where I found her. I think my jaw hit the parking lot. I would hope the rest of the staff here actually cares about ALL animals, not just the "easy" ones."
"This place definitely takes advantage of people having nowhere else to go. They recommend different services that aren't needed to see if you agree. Most people don't question what a vet tells them. They don't let you in the building, so you don't even know how they are treating your animal or if they are doing what they say they are. We paid $500 for a visit because my cat was constipated. They tried running multiple, unnecessary tests that would cost hundreds more. They kept changing the final price and saying they charge for "miscellaneous services" but won't tell you what they are. We were told over the phone that they were doing stuff that they didn't actually do until hours later. We were the only patients and sat in our car over 3 hours. Will never go back."
"Extremely thankful for the care at Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center. Our pup was turned away from our local vet (even though we made an appointment), because they over booked themselves. We went to Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center because her condition got worse and started to become critical. We had to wait awhile to be seen, but it was worth it! The staff took wonderful care of her, gave us updates during her overnight and hosptial stays, and we got a refund for the services they didn't need! The staff were also very kind to me, and I could tell they truly cared about my pup. While I missed having her home, I felt reassured knowing she was getting the best care that she needed at the time. Now she's back home safe, and I can't be more grateful!"
