Reviews of Goodwill Retail Store
"Organized and tons of items! To address other reviews about pricing of instruments. These are decent prices for instruments. (Former music educator and play in many ensembles.)Check out some of the music stores like Woodwind Brasswind online and you will see some crazy prices. One could buy a used car for the price of a good instrument, so if you see a trumpet for under $800 and you need one, grab it. Back to the store, clean, organized and friendly employees. I've found clothing , a music stand, holiday items and some good books there."
"While shopping at this location, a manager was training a new employee. The employee seemed very nice and excited about their first day on the job. That manager doing the training was incredibly rude the entire time to not only that employee but another one as well. All they were doing was asking questions and she couldn't be bothered with it. A week later while browsing at this same store, a supervisor of some sort was having a loud conversation about their disappointment with the previous shift employees. The entire store could hear the entire conversation. Now I understand why they are always hiring."
"Clean store somewhat organized, but I witnessed a very upset employee today. Goodwill really needs to update their registers go with something easier to operate. Finally STOP MARKING UP ITEMS SO HIGH! This is so incredibly frustrating @Goodwill is not a antique dealer or name brand retailer."
"They've lost touch with their customer base. This is a review of goodwill as an organization, and not necessarily the Latrobe location specifically. I've had good experiences here, it's clean, well organized, and well stocked... however the fact that they're separating and exorbitantly pricing anything brand name, or remotely valuable is a shame. Upon my last visit I saw a trumpet for $750, a pyrex set of three bowls which retails for $48, priced at $75, and $25 shoes, just to name a few. I get that people were reselling thrift finds, but why should goodwill care if someone is able to make money off their purchases? I guess that could kind of go along with their mission of helping those in need, by providing some random thrifter with income. But as it is, the organization has become incredibly greedy, guess those at the top need to make the big bucks some how. Everything they get, for free, should be priced equally. Those that genuinely need to shop there for clothing items, household supplies, and whatever else deserve to have nice things at prices they can afford. For years I've shopped at different thrift stores, at first out of legitimate necessity, but in recent years as a hobby, not to resell - just for myself, however I won't be frequenting any goodwill location anymore, which is such a shame."
"I no longer donate here because the manager is very nasty and was yelling at people as they donated, extremely unprofessional. It's obvious she hates her job, but even so, that's uncalled for. The selection is decent and store is spacious, but could use better organization. I agree about the brand name price mark ups being a bit ridiculous, given the fact they get all of this for free. Okay for shopping, but not for donating. Never again."
