"Plenty to say Cadets ARE YOU MOTIVATED!!! Unsure of cycle number graduated December 2002. Plenty of obstacles, learning to work as a team, life away from family, over coming differences with kids all over the state especially from the inner cities. If one got in trouble the whole squad was in trouble. I served on 4th platoon once, lol and was on the drill team. The punishments were sometimes harsh but never unsafe. Overall it was basis of a clean foundation to grow from."
"I had such high hopes in sending my child to this school. Unfortunately this school is extremely unsafe. The kids threaten to kill each other, they use locks and blades to hurt others, they beat them in their sleep. They were barely able to eat because they were rushed. They made the kids wait forever to receive medical attention. And the sergeants would threaten to beat the kids."
"BEWARE! BEWARE! Do not send your kids to freestate challenge academy. The kids safety is not the number one priority. Many kids are being assaulted, hit with locks in socks and the sergeants are doing nothing about it. I have spoke to the director Mr Dickerson and he is a joke! He told me that no kid has been assaulted in 7 years that he has been their. Last night my son was assaulted by 2 other cadets and has a dent in his head and a lot of swelling and a concussion. This happened on 16 Aug 2022. My son is in fear of his life being there and has no trust in the staff. This happened while staff was there. The director will give the run around and will not admit any wrongdoings that are going on under his watch. Please parents spread the word and do not allow your child to become a victim."
"I went to this school, and graduated January 18, 1997. I had the time of my life. Earned a diploma as well as self respect and physical fitness. The instructors here at the time were great. This was an experience I have never forgot. If you are looking to enroll your child here don't think twice. This place teaches young men and women how to deal with life, and respect themselves as well as others. Teamwork, communication skills, extreme effort, maximum physical fitness, and taking orders well are some of the many things I have learned here. Hope this helped anyone reading. Thank you Sergeant Chandler and Sergeant Ruff for pushing me to be my best"
