Greenspring Montessori School

"Red flags. Avoid this place at all costs. We were very excited about our child starting a Montessori education but that quickly changed. After 3 days of attendance we were told we had to withdraw our child stating he was too developmental delayed to attend. So much for “meeting them where they are at” which was gospel at the information session. This was gaslighting at its finest. After 2 months of public and private evals our child has proven to be developmentally normal. Tamara - the director apparently didn’t take well to advocating “millennial” parents. Attempts at reason and compromise were met with a “I know best” mentality. What’s worse is they threw the staff under the bus saying that Michelle, our sons “guide” could have handled it better. This place is a joke and your children would be better served at any of the other local schools."

"Maryland Center for Montessori Studies is located on the beautiful campus of the Greenspring Montessori School, a well-established, well-equipped and professionally staffed school. I presented at their first annual Montessori Conference on April 1, 2017 and was wowed by the facility, as well as the professionalism of the staff of the teacher training center and the school, as well as by the model Montessori classrooms and idyllic setting of the school and center."

"My wife and I are new to the Montessori Method of learning. Our son is a 2yr old Toddler and has attended Greenspring's young toddler program for nearly 6 months now. I can not say enough good things about this school and the community that supports it. In just this short amount of time our son has exploded with curiosity, confidence, and compassion.. Its astounding how they pull this all out of the children at Greenspring. Its most noticeable when he interacts with kids his age that attend conventional schooling. For lack of a better expression, its night and day the difference. It seems that he has leapfrogged these children in so many ways, but most noticeable being speech, motor skills and most of all confidence and how he carries himself. They have really put him in a position to be a leader and we can not be happier. He is so excited to go learn everyday.. We cannot be happier with our decision to send him to Greenspring. On top of it all, the facilities are outstanding. Simply an inspiring place to learn and grow."

"This school has changed for the worse. The new administration and faculty are not working in the best interest of the students and though they claim "authentic Montessori" is the goal they are distorting the true values and philosophy of a Montessori education. My family is one among many who have had a horrific experience with this school."
