"Wonderful staff I always feel the special care and concern when I come to the spine and pain center...thank you all for treating me...."
"I just saw Dr. Closson for pretty severe pain that just started in my lower back that radiates down my legs. He was so patient and kind with me, explaining what was going on and what procedures he offered that could help. He is very knowledgeable AND has an amazing bedside manner. The office staff and nurses are also extremely warm and welcoming. The office is bright and very nice and comfortable. I am a business owner and recognize and appreciate all the hard work that goes into such a well run business. I am so grateful that I felt heard and that I left with a game plan to getting my pain under control. Thank you again for everything!!"
"If I could give them zero stars, I would. Why? Because….. 1.) I always spend a LONG time on the phone whenever I call them. 2.) They have a call center answering service and they’re not helpful. 3.) The last visit I had, I was called and asked if I could come in earlier for my appointment because the doctor had some cancellations. So I arrived 1 hour early. I waited in the waiting room for 40 minutes before we got called back. We then got called back and waited another 30 minutes for the doctor. We spent over an hour waiting…..WHY would they call me to come in early just to wait for more than an hour??! The doctor saw us, left and said he’d come back. He did not come back. I had to ask the nurse and he never came back. The nurse gave me my referral for my MRI and we left. 4.) I got home and realized they never gave me my referral for my physical therapy. 5.) I called and they said they would mail me my referral for my physical therapy. They NEVER mailed it to me. 6.) I had to drive back to the office and pick up my physical therapy referral because they did NOT mail it to me AND they forgot to give it to me when I was at my appointment."
"This review is one that I debated long and hard about posting, but the public deserves to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here is my experience. I was a patient at NSPC for years. For the better part of my experiences, I liked, admired, and respected the staff-both clinical and administrative. The "care" that I received was competent and kind. There were sometimes bumps in the road with scheduling, billing, and procedure authorizations, but nothing bothersome enough to force me out. That changed in 2022. After waiting months for the Referral/Authorization/Claims staff to obtain insurance authorization for a procedure that I desperately needed, I finally received a call that it had been authorized and my procedure was scheduled for April 29. Now... despite that fact that they claim "we don't even allow a patient down the hallway (to the procedure area) if we don't have the authorization first," I learned AFTER THE FACT that it wasn't true; they had not properly obtained authorization. It was a complicated sequence of events- on THEIR part: one that should never have happened. But because it did, they should be accountable for their lack of proper action. Fast forward several months... EVEN NOW, 14 months later, these charlatans are still hounding me for payment for these particular charges that ended up being processed as "Point of Service", because it was not authorized. It appears that I went to an "out of network" provider because it was not properly submitted. Strangely, it took a while, but then the bills started coming...and making endless phone calls to NSPC that went directly to anonymous voicemails. Getting "help" was like pulling teeth. For MONTHS I insisted that it was my sole intention to pay my usual and customary copay and not a penny more. Their fault. Their problem. MANY emails and phone calls were had with NSPC Bowie staff AND the "Company's" (ASC Development LLC) billing division HOPING they would swallow their pride, accept my insurance's usual and customary copay (which I offered to pay), and waive the remainder (the price to pay for incompetency). I was HOPING they would take the responsible, moral and ethical high road. They chose not to. So. I have paid the remainder of the bill; I'm tired of being harassed and threatened with messages that YOUR BILL IS WAY OVERDUE. IT WILL BE SENT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY IF YOU DO NOT PAY. To anyone who may be reading this; if you are looking for a review to help you decide if this is a place you want to DO BUSINESS: TRUST ME...DO. NOT. GO. HERE. Unless you are a person who is knowledgeable enough, assertive enough, patient enough, and are A SELF ADVOCATE who is not afraid to speak up , this is NOT the place for you."
"I can't praise Dr. Closson enough! He has been so helpful through all of my chronic pain challenges. He has been the first physician to truly listen to what I have to say and help me find solutions. I am very grateful for his help, and kind bedside manner. Highly recommended! :)"
