Reviews of Blue Ridge Pet Resort And Spa
"I can't give a review as a customer, but as a neighbor, this facility would be 1 star. I have been woken numerous times by dogs barking before 6am. Even after an interaction with the owner when I was told that it was policy not to have dogs outside that time of the morning, and that barking dogs would be taken inside at other times, I have listened to multiple dogs barking for a solid 20 minutes before 7am. As a dog owner myself, I understand the need for doggy daycare and boarding, but what it shouldn't do is inconvenience neighbors. I wouldn't allow my dogs to wake my neighbors, and I don't expect anything different from my residential neighbors. Why should a business neighbor be treated differently? Edit1: Nothing has changed. These dogs are not hand walked as advertised, they are put into the outdoor pens before 7am regularly. They wake neighbors, aggravate other dogs and cause distress. Edit2: 6.35 this morning again. Edit3: I have no issue with dogs out at 6am, what I do have issue with is them being outside, unsupervised, barking and waking neighbors at 6am. If your staff choose to put dogs into outdoor pens at 6am, go inside and allow them to bark constantly, then perhaps you might want to have a word with them. If this is your company policy, then you might want to rethink it."
"I called to make a flea treatment appointment for my dog. They told me to make sure his vaccinations are up to date. I said perfect. I called his vet, scheduled an appointment, did a wellness checkup and updated his vaccines. Submitted his records to Blue Ridge the day before his appointment. Went there in the morning for his flea treatment and was told he needed his canine influenza vaccine. What the heck is that and is that even a thing? I guess so! I wished the person on the phone would have told me this before driving 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back home. We don’t do groomers normally but I made sure he had his kennel cough. That I knew was a thing. Made an appointment again with his vet to get the canine influenza shot. Got it on the same day. Went back to the blue ridge for his flea treatment (at this moment, I was very proud of our progress) went in to check him in and then was told, oh-no, he needs the “cap” pill for fleas. No one , again, told me this while on the phone or the first time in the facility. I was on the phone with your facility scheduling a “flea treatment “ twice and in your facility once before and no one seemed to be interested in telling me what we needed to have done for my dog. How was I supposed to know? All I knew was the kennel cough. We don’t do groomers because we do everything at home but we have a situation. A flea treatment in my opinion is to treat fleas! I don’t get it. All I’m saying is when folks call to schedule an appointment, is to ask general questions about what shots are needed for your facility and what preventative pills before showing up."
"My fur baby is my whole life. Blue Ridge is my Vet and my Doggie day care as well as where I board him. I just had to board him for 11 days and he had never been away from me until then.I hated having to board him but had no choice. I would give Blue Ridge an A+ grade on the whole experience. They have my 100% loyalty.."
"Today our Daisy was groomed and she looks wonderful. She had a brand new scarf on and blows on her ears. Absolutely loved it. I also like the new building too"
"Great place and employees. I needed a fecal test done for my dog while he was boarded and the employee at the front desk handled it all for me. Scooping, delivering, everything, and for no extra charge. I had them feed my dog their food and his stools are better than when he eats my food, so they’re not giving them junk. My dog has a super sensitive stomach and he’s a picky eater. Somehow they got him something he liked. But best of all, they’re discerning when placing dogs together in play groups. My dog is selectively assertive and yet after 3 weeks of boarding and daycare, there were no issues. I believe they have a mild play group and a hyper one, my dog goes in the mild one and that suits him. They have earned my trust and devotion."
