Reviews of Chesapeake Women's Care
"My experience with Dr. Keith, Penn, Wells and Heather have all been wonderful. I truly cannot understand how the receptionists can be so rude. Chloe has hung up on me 4 times in the last 3 months it’s wild. I called the office manager Leslie to share my experience and she said she didn’t see anything wrong with being hung up on… Additionally all the doctors said I could come in for NIPT testing at 10 weeks but the front desk staff said I wasn’t allowed to with all sorts of excuses even though it says 10 weeks on the handout they gave me. Doctors and Charmaine are wonderful everyone else not so much"
"Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love all of the doctors in this office, especially Dr. Russell and Penn. I have been with Chesapeake women’s care for over 12 years, delivered two children with them and they are all nothing short of amazing. It’s unfortunate that after how I was treated by the office staff I will never be going back. I was trying to schedule a surgery and had some questions, Im not going to lie I was confused about some things going on so I asked to leave a message with one of the doctors and was told that the doctors just don’t call you back. I called back and asked the gentleman who answered the appointment phone if I could leave a message with the doctor he was very short with me put me on hold three times asking the same question every time he picked up . I explained that that I would like to ask the doctor questions about my last visit with her, he literally laughed at me and told me I didn’t have enough information to leave the doctor a message. It was if he was mocking me and making fun of me. I was so upset and felt so disrespected, thinking is this really happening is no one letting me leave a message. It’s very unfortunate that people think that being concerned about their health and welfare of having a major surgery as a joke."
"If you are looking to try natural birth this is not the place for you. All of the doctors aside from 1 pushed for 39 weeks induction for no reason other than that it would be easier on them. They use scare tactics to make you do what they want to the point that a doctor said we need to do 39 week induction because its better than us waiting and having to hold a dead baby. Mind you, the only "concern" was my wifes BMI which had not led to any other complications throughout the whole pregnancy and we had zero issues with the first pregnancy. On top of these issues, we were threatened to have our service terminated while my wife was 39 weeks pregnant because the billing office claimed we had to pay for pre-natal care (basically nobody with insurance does) and were almost impossible to work with. It ended up getting resolved, but just added extra stress to an already 39 week old pregnant woman. The only bright spot and reason i gave them 2 stara was the one doctor who did our delivery as he did not push any agendas and let us do it on our own terms. The only issue with this is that you never know who is going to be delivering when you go into labor and we just happened to get lucky. Despite multiple doctors trying to scare us and make us listen to their agenda, my wife delivered a healthy baby boy all natural with no medicine involved weighting nearly 10 lbs. Overall had a terrible experience with most of the doctors here and would not recommend it to anyone that wants to move along with their pregnancy on their own terms. They will push you to conform to their agenda which is fine for some people, but if you have strong opinions on how you want to go through your pregnancy do not go here."
"Dr. Russell has to be hands down one of the worst physicians with regard to professionalism and bedside manner. Rude, cold, bitter. I tried to discuss a very sensitive matter with her, she talked over me, checked her Apple Watch while I was talking and made light of a horrific experience. I have no idea why this practice associates with her. Her demeanor was just as awful in labor and delivery and she had a bad reputation with the nurses. Avoid at all costs."
"Dr. Jessica Russell is a very smart and thorough doctor. I have been her patient for many years, and I feel that she truly cares about our mental health as well as our physical health. She is very kind and understanding. I trust her and I plan on continuing to be her patient."
