Reviews of Luminis Health Primary Care Annapolis
"Dr. Burke is attentive and compassionate. She takes her time and is very thorough."
"Have had the pleasure of Dr Burke on a few occasions this year. Having multiple medical conditions, my case file can be overwhelming and previous PCP (other practice) have let me down by basically not listening or following through. Her assistant, Stephanie is very attentive and is a pleasure."
"Wish I would have read reviews before going. I saw Dr. Burke and she was awesome. Unfortunately, the staff is the reason I will not be returning. I had a diabetic eye exam offered and was told “this is usually covered by insurance” and I asked if I owed anything at time of service and nothing. All of a sudden I receive bill for $18 which was no big deal. I received an additional bill of $65 2.5 months later with no explanation. I call the office and they said I had to speak with the billing office. I call the number and I’m told “we don’t understand the charges. You will need to call and figure it out with them.” So I call back and get sent to Santosh. This is where is goes from bad to worse. I play phone tag with her for over a month - to the point where she wouldn’t even call me back. Then I speak with her and she basically calls me a liar saying I never called billing and there’s nothing they can do to help me and I need to call billing again. I call the billing department and spoke to a very nice lady who said you definitely called the number on your bill who is a third party and they don’t send notes to your doctors office when you call and speak to them but I can. You need to call and dispute it with them. All of this to say that my insurance doesn’t cover it which when I got the bill, it showed it wasn’t run through my insurance at all. I was also told at the appointment that it’s usually covered considering I’m a type 1 diabetic and have to get an eye exam annually. The lovely Santosh calls me back today once again saying I’m a lair and they talked to the staff from that day in April and no one remembers saying that so you’re wrong. I immediately called and cancelled my future appointment and will be submitting a claim through my insurance. I’ve never been told before that I’m a liar from a doctors office, I’m only 24 and while $83 might not seem like much, it’s a lot of money when I live paycheck to paycheck. I wish they would have been upfront with me about the cost instead of making me believe it would be covered. Santosh is completely unprofessional and hopefully won’t be there much longer. She’s really bringing the practice down"
"Years ago when I located this practice and Dr. Williams after moving to the area, I honestly couldn't have been happier. So happy, that I chose them as the PCP for my family. Unfortunately, over the last two years, I have become increasingly disappointed. Making an appointment to see Dr. Williams is still painless and I am always happy with the care she provides but anything else is a chore to say the least. I had to see another provider when Dr. Williams was not available who put incorrect information in my chart and was mediocre in care in my opinion. Sending messages to the staff through the patient portal or even calling and leaving messages to get a referral or an order for testing..pre-authorization for medication....it's a mess. I shouldn't have to call every few days to see if there is any movement in my inquiry and this last one that have been going back and forth with for a month, I am now on my 2nd week of waiting on a response. I called to get an order for my daughter to get a Covid test on Thursday morning at a Lab since we couldn't get any appointments at the pharmacies, and we still haven't heard anything for that. I suppose that's not a priority. It's not pleasant to feel as if the people in charge of your medical care are too busy or do not consider you a priority. I understand there are many patients but that is the nature of the business you chose. So, now it is my choice to seek out a new provider. I have been pushing this off in the hopes things would get better but I just don't see that happening."
"A 1 Star rating for this practice is being generous. As other reviewers have noted the front deck is a nightmare, long waits on hold and when they finally answer a complete lack of respect and concern. I was initially Dr. Lake’s patient who I liked, she left the practice several years ago. Her replacement in my opinion is not a caring, competent physician who you can entrust with your health. You can wait days or weeks for an appointment, does not fully evaluate your concerns, is dismissive and somewhat neglectful. She provides little to no follow through, and if lucky may leave a short vague message in My Chart, her preferred method of communication. You can make an inquiry in My Chart, if you do not exceed 400 characters, however you likely will not receive an answer. Yes, you can leave a message at the front desk, likely won’t get a reply, I’ve been waiting 8 days and counting! In the past I would just give-up and hope nothing serious was wrong. Today, I am experiencing two health concerns that I truly feel deserves 10 minutes of my Dr.’s attention to explain test results and answer my questions. Honestly is that too much to ask? The billing department is another EPIC nightmare,18 months ago I was billed twice for the same test. I have made repeated phone calls to try to resolve the discrepancy, spoke to both Laura & Lauren without success. I was told that Carolyn their supervisor would contact me….to date no word from Carolyn. I’m now searching for another GP because my health is important, and I have serious concerns that my well-being is a priority at Annapolis Primary Care."
