Reviews of Oasis Behavioral Health Urgent Care
"Unfortunately, after I left a 1-star review here and rated the clinician who treated me on a different site (Health Grades), I experienced retaliation and illegal harassment. A woman with knowledge of my previous mental health treatment made an anonymous call to the local police, telling them that I was a danger to myself and that I was suicidal. The police arrived at my home last night. This happened less than 24-hours after a negative exchange took place with this practice and the clinician. The fact that the clinician or her boss made a bogus complaint to the police in retaliation speaks volumes of the character of the staff. Making false statements to the police is a crime and it is beyond unethical. I am filing complaints with the Maryland Board of Nursing and any other relevant Boards in due time. Do not patronize this practice. If you upset these people for being honest, they will retaliate and attempt to forcibly commit you against your will. Stop lying and get a real job."
"# Review for Oasis Behavioral Health Urgent Care, GBCC Behavioral Health Rating: ⭐ Established many years ago, Oasis Behavioral Health Urgent Care had been a reliable refuge for those like myself, who grapple with complex psychiatric disorders and depended heavily on routine medication management, chiefly, stimulants. However, since its acquisition by GBCC Behavioral Health, the facility has experienced a fundamental overhaul, much to the detriment of its dedicated clientele. Back in the pre-GBCC times, Oasis functioned as a reliable bridge for patients between long-term care providers, ensuring that our critical health needs were not postponed or neglected. This provided a much-needed respite from the worry of being left unattended, if only temporarily. The most striking and disconcerting change has been the staffing. The shift from psychiatrists to psychiatric Nurse Practitioners has noticeably marked the deterioration in the quality of care, particularly in relation to prescription management. It seems apparent to me that attending medical school—learning the intricacies of the human brain, various psychiatric disorders, and the effects of varying medications and dosages—is critical for those charged with such life-impacting responsibilities. This is not to say that every Nurse Practitioner lacks the requisite knowledge or skill, but in the case of Oasis under GBCC, a dire need for higher professional competencies is clear. Moreover, this facility seems to engage in favoritism that borders on patient discrimination. Patients—like myself—who challenge the lack of expert care and voice their concerns find themselves sidelined. In my case, rather than being provided with a thoughtful response to my complaints, or better yet, being offered a solution, I found myself dismissed, effectively left without a lifeline in the form of a competent provider. Not only does this speak volumes about their inadequate practices but also highlights their shocking neglect towards patients. If you're lucky enough to be one of the 'favorites', you might fare well here. If not, don't expect to receive a reliable, compassionate, or professional mental healthcare experience. In summary, the transition in ownership at Oasis Behavioral Health Urgent Care, GBCC Behavioral Health seems to have steered the establishment off its course, cultivating systemic issues that inhibit the provision of essential mental healthcare. For those seeking comprehensive and uncompromised psychiatric care, my advice would be to look elsewhere—the Oasis has dried up."
"My teenage daughter has been going here for a few years it was a rough start because she had a few therapist that left but that is common in this industry however they found her another one pretty quickly .I always get a return phone call if I leave a message and they are always friendly and take time to answer my questions.I like the therapist and nurse practitioner she is seeing now I would advise you just be patient it takes time and is a process especially if they are trying to figure out the correct medication and dosage therapy isn’t a quick fix so I would suggest if you have any issues just reach out they hopefully will be able to help you good luck!"
"Since I've started going to Oasis I have had nothing but good things to say about them. The front desk staff have always been extremely helpful and kind (special shoutout to both Emily and Delethea for always getting back to me right away and answeing any questions I've had during the process of my treatment). It goes without saying that between the pandemic and mainly switching to telehealth visits it has created a little bit of stress on both patients and the staff. However, I have never found this to effect my appointments/scheduling and you can tell that they care about their patients and are trying their best to accomodate everyone. I would also like to thank Dr. Brian Richards and Atola Idika, PMHNP-BC, MSN for an extremely pleasant experience and always being patient and transparent with me during my treatment. If you are looking for an office that really cares about your well being and mental health, I would definitely recommend Oasis!"
"Would give zero stars if i could. Ive been going here for about a year now and have have issues every step of the way. Most recently, they changed my doctor WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME which sent my bill up from $130 to $201. This should be a criminal action. Its not my fault i changed doctors but I’m certainly suffering the consequences. Billing staff is incompetent and will guaranteed mess up your bill or overcharge you. I setup a biweekly payment plan and they decided to charge me every single week causing me to overdraft my bank account. They didn’t care and charged me again the next week. Office will never call you back for a follow up call and are pretty miserable people in general. I hope this review helps others avoid this place at all cost. Mental health is nothing to joke about but these folks really couldn’t care less."
