Reviews of Acupuncture and Herb Clinic
"Highly recommend this clinic, especially for pregnancy! They helped get my baby into the best position for birth (anterior) and my labor was only five and a half hours long (I'm a first time mom so this is extremely fast)! I came to the Acupuncture and Herb Clinic at the beginning of my pregnancy to seek relief for pelvis and sacrum joint pain and it helped tremendously. As my pregnancy progressed, Dr. Thuc-Dan and Dr. Tuan helped alleviate my common pregnancy symptoms like acid reflux, pregnancy insomnia, and swelling/edema. As I entered my 36/37 week of pregnancy, my baby was still breech and it only took one treatment to turn him head-down! Ultimately, they helped get my baby into the most ideal position for labor and delivery and my labor was complication free! I had my baby at home with no pain medication. I truly believe the acupuncture sessions helped make labor more bearable as far as pain tolerance. I am so grateful to the entire staff at Acupuncture and Herb Clinic!"
"I was floored by my first visit here. I came into the office where I immediately met fresh air in an office full of beautiful plants. I was seated in the doctors office where I observed all the books in the bookshelf, all topics relevant to me and my health conditions. The doctor came in and asked me a ton of questions, taking notes in her iPad. She then examined me and took me into the treatment room. While she inserted the needles, she asked me questions about my emotional health and life situation. Throughout the conversation with her, she maintained perfect professionalism while radiating a deep empathetic energy that was so reassuring. During the treatment I released some emotions that were stuck in the areas being treated, shed some tears, and felt better. She also took measurements of the chi in various organ systems and explained their relationships to one another, the expected measurements, and the symptoms associated with the abnormal measurements. This established even more trust with the doctor and I am continuing to see her and will be re-measured in one month to note my improvement. My appointment with the doctor was the perfect experience that I would imagine a healer would have with a patient with an ailment, a lot of aspects which i find missing from other doctors I’ve seen."
"If it were possible, we'd give Dr. Tuan and his clinic more than 5-stars! My husband and I have been visiting Dr. Tuan-Anh for several years now and based on our own experiences, we have unreservedly recommended him to many of our family, friends, and work colleagues. If you are unconvinced about the efficacy of Acupuncture, but disappointed by the results (or lack thereof), that you've had from treatments with allopathic physicians and clinics, you might consider giving Dr. Tuan a try. We love our amazing family physicians at Herndon Family Clinic, but Dr. Tuan has long been our go-to for chronic or sudden aches and pains that they have been unable to treat (other than offering to prescribe painkillers or muscle relaxants). As most of his loyal patients will attest, he is something of a "miracle-worker" when it comes to a range of ailments...but especially when it comes to chronic pain (which most allopathic physicians treat with painkillers or other meds with serious side-effects). My husband is a disabled vet with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and several other ailments. As a former Army Ranger "tough guy," he'd rather die than go see a physician, -- let alone visit a clinic or emergency room, -- but when he's really sick or in severe pain, his first choice is always to visit Dr. Tuan. My husband says that Dr. Tuan is like a cross between Jedi Master Yoda, Ip Man (the Kung Fu Grandmaster who taught Bruce Lee), and Bodhidharma (a famous Buddhist sage-healer who founded the Shaolin Temple). Of course, Dr. Tuan is Vietnamese not Chinese, but if you are familiar with these fictional and historical characters, you'll likely see the resemblance once you meet Dr. Tuan. Dr. Tuan is an "old-school" physician/healer in the best way, -- wise, caring, genuine and kind. He really listens and then makes his diagnosis and gets to work. The average visit (usually acupuncture treatments but sometimes cupping or other healing modalities) takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, -- mostly lying on the tables (in clean peaceful treatment rooms) so that the treatment has time to work, but it's well worth the time investment. However, Dr .Tuan has devoted more time for some of our treatments when we were suffering from great pain without charging extra for our session ( unlike many other clinics. If you are a female and prefer to be treated by another female health professional for cultural or religious reasons, his apprentice and colleague, Dr. Thuc-Dan (female) is also one of the kindest health professionals you'll ever meet and equally competent."
"I had the good fortune of being treated by Dr. Tuan for a viral infection last week and the least I can say is Thank You. Dr. Tuan is an avant-garde healer who clearly is able to wholistically understand the patient's problem, is highly empathetic and compassionate, takes the time to provide options for treatment and does not rely upon one tool, technology or belief system. He also does not proclaim to know the solution to every problem and is willing to work with the patient to see the best path forward."
