Reviews of U.N.I Urgent Care
"Went there this morning at opening (830). No other patients there. I get taken back quickly. The nurse takes my blood pressure on my wrist while I am coughing. (Not the most accurate method) It reads high. I comment on this...she says it's probably because you were coughing. She is probably right. I tell the nurse that I can't take cough medicine. Ater waiting for 30 minutes and listenig to staff talking about football, their families, the weather (because there are still no other patients) At 9:10 the practitioner comes in to the room, I suspect she doesn't come in until 9. So don't open at 830 if you can't see patients until after 9. I then get lectured about the cold medicine that I am taking with my high blood pressure. I told her how the pressure was taken and how it is probably is not right. She defends and argues with me about wrist blood pressures.....really, how about offer to retake it. I have taken blood pressures more years than she has been alive and not in the controlled setting of a doctor's office. I let it slide. I feel miserable, a coughing, snotting mess. She goes out and comes back with a prescription for...... wait for it. Cough medicine. I lost it. I left. A waste of a miserable hour with a condescending, non-listening provider. Update: I was able to get in to see my doctor, (where my BP registered normal because it was taken in a more reliable manor and I was given a prescription that will actually help). When I went to the pharmacy, the cough medicine prescription from urgent care was in their system and the lady starts explaining that the formulation of cough medicine that was prescribed was not available in MD pharmacies. So not only do they not listen....they have NO clue."
"Kierstyn was absolutely amazing! It was an absolute pleasure watching her look over my little boy. He is a nonverbal autistic little dude and she totally understood and treated him amazingly. We all shared laughs and left out with the prescription and help we needed. I’d taken him 4 different places before and none of them helped, kept sending us to get OTC medicine. Kierstyn made me feel like my son was finally looked at with care! I left out of there feeling heard and happy. My little man has got his medicine in his system now and is finally on the way to feeling better. Thank you, Kierstyn. Update: wow after reading a lot of these reviews I’m appalled. It seems a common complaint is the wait time- what do you expect? If you want to be in and out maybe make an appointment with your primary doctor. We had to wait a good little bit to be seen but it was all worth it in the end. Have some patience people, and grow up."
"I have been here a few times since being in the area for college and my experiences have always been good . Today I went in as I was feeling terrible and I had a great experience there was a wait time which I expected with the change in weather but overall it was great . Kayla made me feel very comfortable . I am very dramatic and hate being in pain .She was very patient with me and made sure to talk me through everything she was doing as well as just why . She made the experience even more great ."
"Extremely rude! Especially the front desk. If you hate your job so much just quit! Spent over 12 hours trying to get ONE prescription sent to another pharmacy. I was told they were too busy to do it and we'd have to wait.. didn't think they meant 12 hours. I then went into the urgent care to speak directly to them, and again RUDE! Do not recommend."
"Unfortunately I have had to visit U.N.I. Urgent Care twice in the last 2 months. However, on both occasions the staff and doctors were SO VERY NICE. They were kind, considerate and professional On the 2nd visit, which was a more serious injury, they were very reassuring. I give HIGH praise to everyone who tended to me, from the front desk staff to the techs to the doctors. Thank you all!"
