"Thankfully this clinic accepted us for a same-day appointment, which was great because my husband was having concerning acute symptoms. The total visit was three hours, where we only talked to Dr. Efi for 30 minutes. Great part was he asked questions and explained everything thoroughly to make sure we got all the information, and referred us to CT to make sure the worst wasn't happening. We went to CT, but the radiologist sent us immediately to the ER after finding alarming results (don't want to share my husband's medical information, bear with me). After being rushed via ambulance and placed in the ER, Dr. Efi called my husband, which I picked up because my husband was on the bed. Dr. Efi stated that it was a courtesy call, the call lasted 9 minutes, just full of repetitive commentary on "what we were afraid of may be true," and me just replying "uh-huh." The entire time, he only talked with me and never spoke with the actual patient. My husband is fine now, thank the Lord, but it's alarming and even heartbreaking that two weeks later we were charged a $78 bill for a 15-minute ICD code follow-up my husband never had. Was I not supposed to pick up the phone? Taking advantage of someone's illness like that for profit , especially during a vulnerable and hectic time, doesn't seem like an honest doctor to me. Spoke with front desk staff: they were kind about it. No complaints here. Spoke with their billing department today: she stated she would speak with the doctor to make sure all information was correct, and stated that our card on file will be put on hold so we weren't charged the bill."
