"Friendly Hometown fish store nice selection and good quality. The owner Roy is a super nice guy. In general his fish are healthier than most of the other local pet stores"
"This store is hysterical. You walk into the graveyard of tanks dating back to the 70s. There is a display case full of worthless, dusty toys, and gadgets behind the counter. You continue through the store, pass the centerpiece coral tank (which is well taken care of), and down to what you think would be the backrooms. There is a section with a full offering of necessary products for both fresh and saltwater tanks. Then the fun walks in. You enter the freshwater fish section, and to say it's abysmal is an understatement. The tanks are dirty, super tiny, you can easily find a ton of dead fish floating around in them. Their prices are a little bit higher than the competition around the block. This place is also no where near 7,000sq ft, it's closer to 2,000. The freshwater section offers a full variety of fish from puffers to fancy gold fish. The problem is that the tanks are too small, and the freshwater section is always filthy and soaking wet on the floor. The real fun is when you enter the saltwater area. For a while this was taken care of by a separate company, which completely transformed the room and brought it back to life. Unfortunately, that team is no longer there and the saltwater section has already started to go back to it's original battered state. If you do buy a fish from here, make sure you quarantine it before adding it to your main tank. Aside from that, I tried to work with the owner to help sell and maintain stock levels. The owner didn't like the way I worked, so he fired me after a few weeks. And that's ok. My short employment here at the fish factory has nothing to do with this review, regardless of what Roy the owner thinks. This isn't a personal review, it's a professional review. Save your money and head down the block to the enormous Hidden Reef. They have three times the amount of product, usually even for a bit less! Plus, all of their staff is trained to help ensure you're set up 100% for anything you want. They even have a bunch of reptiles and offer limited dog and cat food and goods."
"The fish factory is amazing, I went to purchase some shrimp and stumbled across a black and white half moon Betta. The gentleman working the fish room was very polite and knowledgeable. While he was removing her from the tank, I got excited and said, I cannot wait to get her home. He smiled at me and told me she was a male. I replied I'll take her anyway. With this being said at any given point he could have just put the fish in the bag and let me be on my way. I would have been none the wiser. This gentleman/store employee took the time to explain to me what I was purchasing. I am new to betta keeping. I also purchased some pumpkin shrimp. He listen to what I had asked and took the time to make sure that he had the right shrimp. I now have my new black and white betta home AKA Casper and my lovely pumpkin shrimp. The gentleman that runs the front counter was amazing. They also placed in the bag some informational packets and a very nifty little flashlight. I could not be more happier with this place. It is so much better than going to PetSmart or Petco as they try to educate you on what you are purchasing and genuinely care"
"I bought plants and shrimp you can not beat their prices on them. There might not be name tags for everything in the place where they are but just talk to the employees and they will help you out. And with my experience they give good portion of stuff like floating plants."
"This store is great! Lots of variety of fish, both fresh and salt water, and the store is way bigger than what you think from the outside. The staff was knowledgeable (Dan) and were able to assist as I was looking for that perfect fish for my nano aquascape. They could use a day to organize and clean a bit, but I’m there for the fish and this place delivered. I posted a bunch of pictures to show others that they should check out the store."
