"Shopped here today on the way to a friends house. Didn’t have any issues outside of the bag of pretzels I bought being expired by two months. Tried calling the store to give them a heads up but no one answered."
"Loyal customer here for a decade. The customer service here the last few months is in the toilet. 8 a.m. Sunday morning. ZERO cashiers, again. Over half of the self checkout lanes aren't open or working. Three different employees walking around doing the online orders. Three employees that just stand in the self checkout area that have to go back and forth as the customers mess up ringing themselves out. Blank stares and no answer when I ask what time do actual cashiers show up to work. If you can't staff the store properly, just close down and let a more competent business move in."
"Shopped on a Sunday morning at 9 AM. Did a full week shopping order and I get to the checkout and there are no cashiers. How do you have one person working the entire front end of a grocery store on Sunday morning. If you expect your customers to ring up and bag all their own groceries and do the job of your employees then you need to lowered your damn prices and you need to have a system that works where you can fill more than three freaking bags without needing someone to come over and scan a card. I will not be doing large week orders at the store ever again I’m tired of it with GIANT. By the amount of people in the store, I think others feel the same way"
"Giant launched in 1923 when David Javitch opened a small meat market in Carlisle, Pennsylvania called Carlisle Meat Market. In 1936, Javitch purchased a store in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, which he named the Giant Shopping Food Center. It was a major change from the original Carlisle Meat Market in that it was a total grocery store. The new store offered dry goods and perishables under one roof; a new concept at that time. The store was a success, and soon a decision was made to expand the original Carlisle store from a basic meat market into a full-fledged grocery store."
"It was old and everything was falling apart, i have stopped going to this location, feel like giant listened the community and remodeled this place like better than ever, with a grand opening and lots of coupons to neighborhood it showed off new additions like expanded natural food section, fresh produce, bakery, salad bar. Farm fresh organic fruits and veggies. Great customer service. 18 checkout lanes, self checkouts."
