"My sister, Rhonda Kay Fike, was a long term, 30 year client of PHG in Romney, WV. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her mother, and two of the best employees PHG has. We have yet to receive a call or even a sympathy card from the Executive Director, Mike Landis, or Theresa Mowery, Day Treatment Coordinator, or Sharon Engle, Director of Developmental Disabilities. When you care more about the bottom line than the clients, you lose your ability to provide compassionate and meaningful care. My mother had to advocate for her daughter, when PHG implemented policies that were harmful and even dangerous to Rhonda's care. There was a telephonic meeting on October 31, 2022 in which my mother addressed her concerns regarding the reduction of staff ratios towards Rhonda and her roommate. My sister was blind and severely mentally challenged and her roommate was wheelchair bound. The ratio was one on one and reduced to two on one without notifying my mother, Rhonda's guardian. Ms. Teresa Mowery scoffed and heckled my mother during this meeting for asking a simple question regarding the care of her daughter. Ms. Mowery was completely unprofessional towards my mother and I was shocked that she was representing PHG in this manner. Her lack of communication caused a situation yo escalate that could have been handled professionally. The staff that my sister had, caring for her in her home, were beyond amazing and became our family. Their love for my sister showed in their dedication to their job. They deserve better than how PHG treats them and will forever be in our hearts. I wish I could say the same thing about the management side. When you mistreat your employees, don't care about your clients, and are lacking basic compassion, you are creating the opposite environment to flourish and succeed. My sister, Rhonda Kay Fike, was a beautiful soul. Too bad management was too blind to see that."
"I made 6 phone calls and had to wait two weeks for my medication! That is uncalled for and absurd when you need your medication!!! I observed very unprofessional behavior by staff and most staff were standing around talking and smoking when I arrived for my appointment and most of the time still there when I left an hour later. I would not recommend this facility for treatment due to the lack of poor communication and unprofessional staff!! It’s just a job, not a passion to help others when you are seeking help!!"
"Came up for PTSD treatment on Google search, they are more like a trigger than a treatment. I'd advise going elsewhere."
"The one doctor they have, who is only rarely in Romney, doesn't listen to her patients. The therapist I talked to was not meant to be a therapist. She enjoys talking more than listening and working with a patient. Overall, you feel like a number being pushed through a system."
