"Interesting how a lot of these reviews from other people are about how great the staff is. Well unfortunately they just laid off another big round of great employees in addition to the 14 who were laid off 7 months ago. If you shop here and don’t have the same experience you are used to, it’s probably because they fired all the best employees! Just keep that in mind when you decide to spend your money and support big box retailers such as this one. Spend your money at smaller retailers and bike shops instead. A lot of really great smaller bike shops exist in Philadelphia."

"I always go to this REI. There's a great selection and the staff is really helpful. What finally got me to write a review is that I came in with some mountaineering boots that I had bought online and that did not seem to fit me well. After I'd already returned them, I ended up talking with one of the boot fitting guys, Erik, and he helped me deal with adjusting them properly and even how to mold the boots themselves to my foot (I wear US size 14 so it is quite difficult for me to find boots). Seriously, this guy helped me out for over 30 min. Thanks Erik!!"
