"This is my son's first year in school it started off very rocky but it has gotten better. My son loves his teacher! But I have to say the front office staff is very unorganized. For Example, I made sure on his form that in case of emergency they call me at my job or my cell, but they always call my son's father who in turn relay's the message to me. I really don't know why they wouldn't call me first since I am his primary care giver and I stated this on his forms. Second example is when they called my son's father to come pick up my son since they said I was out of compliance with my son's shots. I left my job went to the school with his shot records and indeed he was missing one half of a shot not all the one's they had listed which led me to believe they lost the initial shot record I gave them beginning of year. So that's my fault in turn for missing the other part but what I did not understand is why I wasn't sent a notice. They claimed they sent it in the mail but I check my mail everyday and still never received it. What made me more upset is that I was recently volunteering at my son's school before this all happen and not once did anyone mention that my son was on this list. So my son is now missing school because you claim you sent me a letter in the mail? If they could get it together I would appreciate it. Schools fail to realize that they spend just as much time with our children as we do so this is truly a community effort. If you see something out of compliance or anything that may effect a child's ability to learn it should be brought to the parents attention immediately. Not just sent in a suppose it school letter mailed to me. Our children depend on both the parents and the school to teach and guide them so when children miss school they are missing a portion of guidance. I really hope not only PG county but also panorama gets it together for the community and our kids in general."
