"As I considered education for my children, it was important they not only be well educated but also well loved. I have had 2 children graduate from this gem of a school and have one currently in HS. My oldest has graduated from college and will be starting a graduate degree program in science and my second oldest is 1 year away from completing her BS degree. All of my kids have been well loved by teachers and staff who know them and are eager to share with me the things I "miss" because I am not at school. Teachers clearly communicate their expectations but also offer grace when circumstances challenge expectations. If you are considering this school, I do encourage you to visit and not only look at you child's grade level, but be sure to visit a classroom in the Upper School. The outcome of a Christian and Classical Education is more clearly evidenced in the discussions you witness in the classrooms."
"Both our children are completing their fifth year at Rockbridge Academy. Our educational journey began as a homeschool family. But when we had to search for a school, our focus was for one that was Christ-centered and where parents were considered the primary educators of their child(ren). At Rockbridge, we have found that and more. Education there is perceived as the exploring, unpacking and understanding of God's creation, and this philosophy undergirds every subject area. They follow a classical curriculum, which essentially translates to an education that aligns with a child's natural development. The fruit of this form of education has been wonderful to witness as a parent. Forgiveness and restoration of the student is a the heart of their approach to discipline. I am so incredibly grateful for the education they are receiving there and that they experience the Lord's grace there and at home."
