"Potomac animal hospital is quite pricey, but we love the level of care our dogs have received over the past years. We go here for grooming, preventative care, and medical care. The reception staff is very friendly, as are the vets themselves."
"My high-drive working line German Shepherd, Axel, has been well cared for by Dr. Michael Scott, now retired and a current owner, and his son, Dr. Jason Scott, for over ten years. Axel has been having GI problems, and when he was a puppy, he was very underweight. I switched to Potomac Animal Hospital from the previous vet's office because their advice was not working. Dr. Jason recommended the proper prescription dog food and turned around Axel’s health! I was genuinely concerned about his health at that time. All of the staff is friendly, and the people who take Axel to daycare service are very nice!! I can tell by watching Axel how happy he is going there. I have never had any problems boarding/daycare in there. Now, Axel is 10 years old and has health issues. Dr. Jason explained what was going on, and he replied to all my questions promptly. They cared for my senior cat, Kyra, too. When I had to let her go, Dr. Jason gave us a long time to say goodbye to her. He was very compassionate in taking care of her. Axel still has his time, but when that sad time comes, I'm most certain he and all of his staff will be supportive of my family."
"Not accepting new patients. I could not schedule an appointment even after sending all the required pet's health records and waiting for 3 days. Office states that prior to scheduling any appointment, the customer should send all the records and wait for 24-48 hours before making an appointment. Unfortunately, my pet could not receive a medical service from a veterinarian."
"Updated with photos. My dog had metals in her teeth from chewing on her cage while boarded at Potomac Animal Hospital. She was neglected. She had to get 3 teeth removed so she will no longer be in pain. I obtained their daily log where they have an entry for my dog on day one and her teeth were not broken pre boarding. Also, there is no mention of an abrasion on her nose. They never called to address this problem nor did they try to correct it for a whole week. They never called about my cats not eating. I have phone logs proving it. My dog Frosty got an eye infection the very next day of boarding. They did call me for that pet. I boarded my two healthy dogs and two cats for a week. My German shepherd came back with her nose completely scratched and bloody and she has now two broken teeth. My cat Moxie weight has gone down. we called and shared photos to show them that it did happen on their watch and they refused to acknowledge it. I use the vet services too and according to the vet at Potomac Animal Hospital, my dog has good teeth and is healthy. So what is it? Also they lied about my cat Moxie. They said that they called us repeatedly to let us know that she was not eating when in fact, they didn't. My call log doesn’t show the calls. No apologizing was offered. Do not board your pets there If you care about them."
"I moved here four years ago and my elderly dog has received the best care since we arrived. My sister recommended and we are so happy! The staff is and very welcoming, kind and knowledgeable . Dr. Jason Scott and Dr. Harris are very caring and take the time to explain what is going on and their advice is never about pushing medications or procedures. I completely trust this practice and appreciate all of the care my dog has received! The groomers are also the best in this area! Ken knows exactly how to groom Teddy!"
