Reviews of Goodwill Outlet Store - Rappahannock
"i've been to a bunch of different goodwills and thrift stores over the years and i love thrift shopping, but this is by far the trashiest, most ghetto one i've ever seen. it didn't take more than a few minutes inside before i just walked out in disappointment. as it shows in the photos, almost everything is literally dumped into huge plastic troughs, including fragile items such as tv's. you have to literally dig through a pile like an animal in hopes that you might find what you're looking for. and everything was at least 15 years old. not charming antiques old; i mean useless junk old. are you looking for a pirated copy of the addams family that someone recorded onto a vhs tape? how about a completely destroyed monopoly board set with probably half of the pieces and money missing? well, you're in luck! other than that, tons of stuff that is damaged, scratched up, or electronics that are way past being useful (i.e. ANCIENT cell phones)."
"Staff is nice, but I’m not a fan of the layout. Majority of the facility is filled with bins of clothing and toys. Everything looks dingy. If you’re like me, into aesthetics, this isn’t the first stop."
"I don't think I have been to the Goodwill Outlet before, it's not for me. Very loud and plenty of bins filled with goodies to dig through."
"There are two different stores within this building's first floor. The normal Goodwill store and the Goodwill outlet. The outlet side is a mess. Everything is thrown into large bins. The only sorting they do is dividing sections into clothes, toys, shoes, purses and electronics. The majority of the toys are broken and are missing pieces, and the electronics are thrown into huge piles, and are often broken in the process. Care needs to be used when digging through the bins, as it is often you will find broken shards of plastic/glass crushed near the bottoms of the bins. There are also groups of people who spend every day there for hours. Whenever a new huge bin is brought out, these 'vultures' (that is how they act) gather around in packs surrounding the new bin. Once the employees say they are done bringing in the new bins, the madness ensues. The 'vultures' rip though everything, often throwing things around breaking things just so they can dig the fastest, grabbing anything and everything that may be of value. They fill up their boxes and multiple carts up to the brim with whatever they find. After they are done, most of the stuff left over is broken garbage. The 'vultures' buy anything of worth to resell, then just go back to it again, repeating the process everyday, all day. The store side is organized much better, much less chaotic and has slightly nicer things but their prices have steadily been going up. They are also branching out by selling their own line of new retail merchandise."
"There’s the Goodwill Outlet and a Goodwill Store at this address. The outlet sells things by the pound. There are large bins (see photos) that you dig through. It is sort of organized by the bin. Lots of digging for treasures. I found two totes that cost me $3.30 total. The Goodwill store looks like a department store. Very organized and great prices. Very friendly staff. I purchased a gorgeous cabinet for $31. Two gentlemen loaded it for me. There’s a large parking lot but it was packed. I had to drive around to find a space. Both stores were very busy."
