Reviews of MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center
"I have been seeing my neurologist at Franklin Square going on 4 years now. She has been extremely supportive and helpful through the process and her office as well. The department that ensure my prescriptions are filled have gone above and beyond multiple times when my old pharmacies refused to fill my script or take my insurance. I have had nothing but good experiences here. The only thing that sucks is the parking situation."
"I have had four varicose vein procedures so far with Dr. Arnold & Team. I’ve been blown away each time! My varicose veins were due to multiple pregnancies and I felt very self conscious getting treatment due to being young. However, all the way from scheduling my first consult to leaving my latest procedure, I have had a very pleasant experience with everyone in the office. They were only running late one time due to fitting me in early due to a snowstorm, and a very lovely nurse came out to talk to me. As for Dr. Arnold..she is PHENOMENAL! Her bedside manner is better than any doctor I’ve ever met. She plays music during the procedure, explains every touch, and distracts you with fun conversations. I’ve been extremely impressed with the results of her work as well. She is extremely talented and a gem of an asset to MedStar. Thank you all for helping me get my legs back!"
"The worst hospital experience. No care for professionalism or patient care. It wasn’t just one nurse I had a bad experience with, it was all of them in the triage. I was there for severe back pain for UTI and I was crying. I was in triage room #7 on 1/14/24 from 2-9pm. While I was crying, 4 day shift nurses at the left side of the desk looking out from my room laughed at me saying “This ain’t the place. She’s not getting any sympathy here.” The triage floor was quiet when they said it and I heard it loud and clear. It was 1 black male who said the comment, tall short hair dressed in all black with red undershirt. The others who laughed were 3 black short females sitting behind the desk. One was young and had her hair up in ponytail with purple bejeweled nametag, she was the one who checked me in for emergency contact/asking about religion, insurance, etc. One was older had shoulder length hair with highlights and glasses. The other female had a head scarf on and a mask so I could see her features. The other nurses I had were white and female and no one told me the plan, what to expect. I waited for hours and had no idea what was going on. They never introduced themselves so I didn’t know their names. Also the people being checked in coming from the paramedics were done right in front of me with all of the personal info exposed right there in the hallway including their medical background and social security number. Myself and everyone on the hallway knew their info!"
"I’m a patient now I’m starving, nurse Adrian of Hispanic decent who worked the morning shift 1/14/24 laughed at me when I asked for my pain meds then came back 4 hours later without them. She said I could only have my Tylenol if I had a fever. My breakfast was thrown out and the second order I put in at the kitchen since I didn’t eat was never put in. The charge nurse said she would tell her supervisor tomorrow. My dad died here less than 3 yrs ago, he was a fall risk and they left him in the room his call button disconnected and found him blood pouring out of his head. They had him pronounced brain dead in less than 48hrs while my family took to long to understand what happened. Last night I was moved down a floor and now see how my father died, if you see in the picture I have no call button, no phone numbers, no leads for my pulse ox which is why I was moved to this floor because I need more oxygen. The oxygen I am connected to holds me hostage. The nurse on this floor asked the nurse sending me to give her 15 mins because she was with a patient, well she didn’t have 15 mins. I asked for a Respiratory treatment because I had trouble breathing she told me ask the nurse down stairs then yelled at the respiratory nurse on the new unit in the hallway a kind nurse name Emily as though she was a child and it was her fault. She didn’t want to do work on her floor but wanted to send me to the next floor and tell everyone else how to do there job. But no worries a supervisor of some sort will know tomorrow based on what charge nurse Leslie said today. I am really really hungry. I came by ambulance and it was an emergency I am scared though I don’t know if my illness will kill me or if they will. May the odds be ever in your favor in this place."
"outpatient surgery arrival @ 5:30 i was pleasantly surprised everything was consistent and ran smoothly. Since i had to be there so early i thought i might end up "sitting around" waiting & waiting. I was wrong!!! From the time i registered at front desk i moved on to next step pretty consistently i never waited anymore then 5-10 min. All staff was professional, friendly & empathetic from the time i checked in to the time i checked out...smooth sailing the whole way!"
