"Every day I walk into my gorgeous new kitchen and think about how grateful I am to have chosen Brass Tacks Home for this project. A big renovation is rarely simple/straight-forward, and was a financial investment that we took very seriously. Jesse handled any and all issues/questions with kindness and patience. The process felt very collaborative which meant a lot to us. The custom cabinetry is absolutely stunning. The design, guidance, craftsmanship, and hard work of BTH created a beautiful space for my family!"
"We hired Brass Tacks Home to renovate a bathroom, powder room, and laundry closet in our town home. Cost of renovation was about 28k. The bathroom and powder room were a complete gut. The laundry closet was a partial gut. Jesse had sub-contracted the drywall and counter work to separate companies he hadn't worked with before. The drywall contractor didn't show up after the first day. Jesse got him back in, and the guy may or may not have had a heart attack? He left never to return. Jesse finished that. In a year of work complete, I've spent an additional $248 having things fixed that Jesse, from Brass Tacks Home, screwed-up. This doesn't include those things he screwed up that I've simply decided to live with. * The final day of work Jesse installed a mirror in our powder room. The mirror was purchased from Electric Schoolhouse. It arrived a few days before Jesse installed it. Inspected the mirror prior to Jesse arriving just to confirm it was the right one. I get home to see a dent in the upper right corner of the mirror. * Jesse had to patch the ceiling in the powder room. He painted the ceiling with the wrong paint color. I had to pay to have that fixed. * There are tape and knife marks on the drywall in both the bathroom and powder room. I've just learned to live with them. The paint misses that I've had touched up. * The counter top in the powder room was scratched during installation. Again, I just learned to live with it. * About two months after work completed, the caulk around the bathtub in the renovated bathroom cracked. I've had that re-caulked, twice. * The outlets were crooked. I had them re-oriented by an electrician while having a ceiling fan put in. * The counter top company mis-cut the counter top for the bathroom. Thank God Lindsey insisted they provide a new piece of marble cut properly. The second (new) marble counter top in the bathroom started pitting about a month after installation. I'd asked to have it fixed, but given how the drywall was mutilated when the second counter was put in, I've learned to live with it. When I raised issues about the marble, Jesse shared my dismay. He explained he was shocked. This was the first time they used this company due. His dismay aside, he didn't do anything. It was like he didn't realize his subs reflected on him. Take responsibility for the people you sub-contract to. * We had Jesse back twice to fix the faucet in the bathroom. It would get lose and start spinning. * The wall hook for the hand towel in the bathroom is lose. It's more like a door knocker than a towel hook. I was excited to use a small local company. I really liked some of the other projects I'd seen Brass Tacks complete. My project wasn't a big kitchen renovation or a full home gut. Maybe I just didn't get their A-game. But, for 28k, I didn't get what I paid for. I would not use them again. I would not recommend Jesse or Brass Tacks."
"In 2018 I opened my first small business, a women’s clothing boutique. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted the shelving and front desk/back counter to look like but needed help bringing those ideas to life. Brass Tacks Home not only did this for me but they took it to a whole other level! Everyone that comes into my store comments on the incredible live edge desk we have, complimented by custom shelving designed and created by Jesse and Lindsey. I couldn’t be more grateful or thankful for these two and they part they played in helping make my space so incredible. Also, the job was done in a very timely manner, the price was kept in the budget I had set for this project and both Jesse and Lindsey were a dream to work with. They gave me not only an incredible, functional counter that has become a focal point in my store front but at the same time, the most amazing piece of art that I am honored to own."
"We had the BEST experience using Brass Tacks Home for our recent kitchen renovation. Jesse was so professional, timely, creative, knowledgeable, and tidy! Our house was NEVER left in disarray when the work day was done. He takes pride in his work and it shows through the attention to detail in the craftsmanship of his cabinetry. Jesse gave us a timeline and we were extremely impressed with his ability to stick to it, even when we asked him to do some “extra” work (such as widening the frame to our dining room). Lindsey was always available to bounce ideas off of. They both really listened to what our vision was. Everyone who comes to our house is jealous of how beautiful our new kitchen looks. We got way more than we asked for, and enjoyed our overall experience. Jesse and Lindsey were so friendly and easy to work with. They are both very personable and we have recommended Brass Tacks home to several of our friends!"
"Creative, patient and simply a pleasure to work with. Extremely high-quality craftsmanship for a reasonable price, with a side of friendliness and fun!"
