Not only can she cut and style my hair exactly how I want it from 1 or 2 reference pictures, she also communicates throughout the entire process and provides with her professional input on what she believes will look best on me. Gotten multiple highlight sessions and my hair has never looked and felt healthier. Ever since I started going to her I’ve constantly been getting compliments on my hair. If you want your hair to look and feel the best its ever been then I highly suggest you go to her!"

"Ashley is a magician with hair - cut and color. But what I truly love about Malan is how comfortable I feel when I visit. In the past I’ve gone for a “high end” cut and the vibe was so snotty or uptight or faux trendy but with Ashley and team you can be yourself and she truly cares about the client’s happiness. "I had a traumatic experience that was not helped by the attitude of the stylists. I initially tried to make an appointment with Ashley, who is well-reviewed. She didn't have time until January, so I specifically asked when making the appointment if another stylist, Serenity, was experienced in highlighting medium brown hair with gray to blend it in. I was assured she was and made the appointment. At the salon, the first thing Serenity did was to ask Ashley whether she should apply bleach to the full strands of hair, or only to the new growth. Even I know that pulling it through the lengths would lead to melting/breaking the hair. Obviously, Ashley told her not to do that. While the solution was on my hair, Ashley informed me that Serenity had been trained at Balmain, which was somewhat reassuring, though it appears to have been misleading, at least with respect to foils. The foils were placed, but were then removed too soon, resulting in an orange tint to the requested blond highlights on the sides. Serenity then asked Ashley if she agreed with me that it was wrong on the sides. Ashley did agree, and said the solution was to dry the sides and apply low light (brown) foils to blend it better. Ashley herself did the "repair," but this did not solve the problem. Instead, it resulted in a brown copper color that stands out in the most unflattering way to the rest of the highlighted hair. When I returned home, I realized that not only was the highlighting absolutely wrong on the sides, but it's utterly wrong in the back, with more than 2 inches of brown hair above where the foil even started. Now I cannot even wear my hair up until it's fixed. There is NO excuse for this improper hair treatment. I've never had such a bad time at a salon...ever! Furthermore, you don't tell a client that she isn't seeing what she's clearly seeing.Serenity is clearly not experienced in this area and I should not have been assured she was. If I could give zero stars, this experience certainly warranted it."

"If I could rate 6 stars I would. Ashley is a very honest and reliable owner. She will tell me what I need and will do anything to minimize damage to the hair. Super great experience especially because my hair (highlights) normally takes 4 hours at most hair salons but here it took LESS THAN 2 HOURS! Such a time saver and great quality."
