"If I could give 0 stars I would. In October I was transported by ambulance twice in two days. I woke up one morning and couldn’t walk. The pain was excruciating but I was more worried about not being able to walk without crutches. I went from being perfectly healthy to not being able to put any weight on my right side. I could only walk backwards because my leg wouldn’t swing forward. I was released both times within an hour. They said they couldn’t admit me for pain. Are you serious? What kind of doctors do you hire here?. Needless to say I went home the second day and went to sleep. My wife woke me up 4 hours later because I was burning up. My temp was 105 and my bp was 240/138. She called the ambulance for the second time that day. When they arrived she told them if they couldn’t take me anywhere other than grant that they could leave and she would figure out a way to get me somewhere else. They agreed to take me to Romney at Hampshire Memorial. They told me immediately that I had an infection somewhere and that I wouldn’t be going home. They started blood tests which grant did not do. I was on the verge of death. If this hospital would have done blood tests, They would have seen that I had an infection. I guess me waking up and not being able to walk wasn’t enough. I was transported to Inova in Fairfax immediately for having septic arthritis in my hip. I stayed there for over 2 weeks. Came home with a pic line and did antibiotics here for months. As I’m writing this I still can’t walk without crutches but the pain and infection is gone. I am now in physical therapy in Moorefield. Do not come here unless it’s for a bandaid or stitches. They will let you die with no thought about it. I filed a complaint and nothing was done. This is how they treat their patients. If it were a member of their family they would have went above and beyond. This place is a joke"
"Waited 3 hours in the ER for a Covid test result and to see a doctor for 2 children when they weren’t busy in the middle of the night!"
"Long story short, I had a 5.5 inch gash on the inside of my upper thigh. I was attended to immediately. Robin Phares was the Nurse Practitioner who stitched me up. I don't know the names of the other two ladies that were there, but one held my hand while the other assisted Robin. They kept me calm and distracted by singing with me. They truly made me feel like I was a family member that they were taking care of. I couldn't have asked for a better trio during a very traumatic experience. THANK YOU!!"
"My husband has been to this place probably 200 times in the last 20 years and that is not exaggeration. They have never found anything out other than the fact he has a insurance card that pays them ,and he’s only went downhill and if they ever did find anything serious, it was usually not what they said, and they shipped them to another hospital, which Found out they were totally wrong .They mistaked a blood clot for a blocked bowel 10 years ago but I’m glad they did send him to another hospital and that Winchester found out it was blood clot I could go on and on with this place but it repulses me . The attitude you get sometimes from the some of the receptionist even she totally don’t want to hear your problems, but supposed to be a hospital that cares and she’s there to take input on problems . Their idea they have is get them in collect the insurance and push them out the door as fast as possible no matter what condition they go home in . I feel like they don’t care if you go home and die at least they don’t have to mess with it who cares is the impression I got from them ..my husband can be screaming and crying in pain and they would send him home. Call me to come and get him. They’re just a business collecting insurance, no hearts, and no care for most people working there but that is everywhere. I don’t trust any Hospitals but this in particular I don’t trust. Hospital’s today are less caring and more like a Walmart business just to see how much money they can collect for nothing. I don’t trust medicine period. I truly am to the point where I feel like they would literally give you something to make you sick so they may could get more money and that’s where I’m at . I feel like they need to teach some of the workers, nurses and receptionist how to be a nicer person because when people are sick, they don’t wanna deal with your attitude get an attitude adjustment class. Not all of the receptionist are rude. Not all of the nurses are either I feel like the doctors here are more knowledgeable than Grove Street definitely but if you have anything seriously wrong or go somewhere else."
"This rating is ONLY for the overnight ER team. From what I understand other services in the hospital are good. Overnight ER has a reputation for doing more harm than good, and that has been the experience of my own family on two occasions. If at all possible, go to the overnight ER in Romney instead."
