"My experience was nothing but pleasant because everyone was soooo nice. I had to have an IV with my CT scan. First, the absolute best experience placing IV with these small veins that roll. Felt more like having blood drawn. She was so nice too! Second, I have issues with CT scans. Long story short, this young lady was sooooo good and patient with me. She talked me through it and a little more afterwards. She even hugged me. I have so much going on right now that I forgot to get either of their names. Ugh!!! Anyway, MAJOR props to these ladies and the staff at this facility. My first choice for possible future procedures."
"I had the best ultrasound experience ever at this location. I am not one to leave reviews typically but this experience was amazing start to finish. The front desk staff were welcoming and swift with my check in. Charity (I believe was her name) was my tech and she was so friendly with great bedside manner. She made me feel incredibly comfortable despite how invasive the nature of the ultrasound was. Although this location is not close to my house I will return with hopes of receiving this level of care again because it truly cannot be topped!"
"I visited JH RADIOLOGY in Columbia yesterday mid morning in an attempt to schedule a simple cy scan rue to a possibe kidney stone The female employee at the front desk proceeded to tell me that the first available appointment was August 8th. I told her that I was out of town that week and asked if there was anything available even on a Saturday. She said no. At that point I asked for the doctor's orders back and told her I would have to find another radiology facility. She gave me back the paper work and just shrugged as if to say who cares I think you would agree that my experience was unprofessional and not very patient caring. She couldn't have cared less if I didnt use your facility. I have had other doctors in that building steer me away from using your facility maybe this experience was an example that recommenaction. "This was the best medical procedure I've ever received. Holly my tech was fantastic. The ultrasound gel was warmed before. She announced what she was doing for every step so there were no surprises. A shaperone came in for the internal portion which I think is fantastic. I also got a Sunday appointment and there way no wait!"
"I will not come here again. When I entered the exam room for an ultrasound, I told the technician, who did not introduce herself, that I was having a panic attack and would not be able to hear well because one of my hearing aids was broken. She seemed disinterested. I am a large, handicapped person with poor social skills, so I'm odd but completely harmless. I felt as if I was treated as a problem, instead of a cooperative patient with excellent insurance. Later, the technician made a disparaging and unprofessional comment about my undergarments. She used the term "pee" instead of "urinate," also unprofessional. She wouldn't let me see the screen after I commented that I thought I could see what my doctor was looking for on the image. The resulting report cited my size as an excuse for poor quality imaging, rather than inadequate technician training or possibly poorly maintained, outdated equipment. A few years back, I had a similar experience when a technician made a negative comment about my legs, which are deformed due to a medical condition. The Americans With Disabilities Act prohibits medical businesses from refusing service to the handicapped, but businesses can and do make patients unwelcome so they take their business elsewhere. John Hopkins Medical Imaging's staff needs training to meet the ordinary needs of the odd, the large, and the handicapped patient. We need and deserve the same quality of care as the able bodied."
