"This was like months ago, but I felt the need to comment now when friends ask me what salon I went to. And then I remember Malcolm's in Dunmore! Not such a great time. Yes, of course! I loved my hair! I got it blow-dried and straightened by Vicki (such a slay queen!) but Shirley wasn't having it once I walked in. Again, loved my hair, didn't love Shirley."

"I came in a week or so ago this would be my second and last time seeing/trying Shirley. First appointment I had with her was because Connie was booked. Why not, let’s try. She the first time adamantly talked me out of a long layering. Mind you my hair goes to the top of my rear but, she told me she really would not be able to “because I would be able to pull my hair back”. Now I do under the concept of what she was saying because I too have gone to cosmology school. However, with her demeanor in combination which my hair length.. it just simply did not make sense. I did choose to not go with the layers at that point because I was not styling my hair a lot which was my choice. Now come to a few months later, I get a new job and now styled my hair every day so I booked a last-minute appointment and once again, Shirley was the only stylist with available appointments for the same day. I did hesitate, considering my first experience. However, decided to give her a second chance anyways. When I showed up for my haircut, she took me back to wash my hair and once again asked me what I was looking for that day. I explain to her that I would like to follow through with the layers that I was talking about in our previous appointment. She immediately said “now didn’t we talk about this before” and started to talk me out of the long layers again so I asserted my position with the haircut I wanted. She again asked me what I was “expecting” so I told her that I expected layers. That I did want to put it in a ponytail but more so on the bottom for curling/styling. Shirley cut my hair. 39.99. I go to the ATM pull 60 out and give her 3 ones out of my wallet ask for 10 dollars back. Personality jumbled up and all she asked me “oh you said 5 right ?”. I looked up and said oh ya ya knowing damn well what Shirley’s game was at this point and that I’m not coming back. The only reason I made a review is because after that it was not cut right and I had to spend the money AGAIN to get it fixed somewhere else. Moral of the story pick the other stylist who have the clients it’s for a reason."
