Reviews of Hair by G
"Good place to get a fast cut, however, GAO cuts it really fast and without putting in too much details, you have to instruct him to do so otherwise"
"Very aggressive and not friendly. Very bad at hair cut and only takes no more than 10 minutes and ask me out without respecting my requirement. It like robbing money, and give me a strong feeling of discrimination. Never come here again."
"Not recommended, did not cut the hair to correct shape as promised .Please just tell me you don’t know how to do the hair cut style that I ask for, instead of just cutting the hair short. Terrible experience for me that I could not sleep until I decided to write this review,so I bought an iPhone overnight to write this review."
"Great barber. Friendly person. He will make you feel at home. Great hair cut and good conversation."
"Had a terrible experience at Hair by G — the owner was aggressive and made me feel unsafe. I came in to get my hair cut and had to wait for a bit while the owner/barber was finishing up with another customer. During that time, a homeless individual came into the shop and sat down next to me in the waiting area. This individual was behaving erratically and shouting intermittently, which created an unsafe environment. Given his proximity to me, I was genuinely concerned. Despite the palpable discomfort in the room, the owner neither addressed the individual nor asked him to leave. When the person eventually left on his own, the owner laughed it off. Both the customer and I expressed our surprise at his lack of intervention, only to receive a dismissive remark: "If you ignore them, they leave on their own." As I began explaining the style I wanted, the owner interrupted, refusing to listen or let me speak. I like to make it easy for my barbers by showing them pictures so when I attempted to do that, he immediately dismissed me and aggressively responded by saying, "I don't need to see, I'm a professional" and "Yeah yeah, whatever". Right off the bat, I was very thrown off and taken aback. Looking back on the entire thing, I should've just left at that moment. Throughout the haircut, his annoyance was evident; he kept shaking his head and made loud curt comments like "keep your head straight!" About 10 mins into the haircut, he said he was done and asked me how it looked. The result was uneven and not at all what I wanted. Though he spent an additional five minutes adjusting it, the final result was still far from satisfactory. I was also taken aback by the payment process. Although a sign indicated cash-only payments, this was not communicated when I booked my appointment. When I told him that I'll get some cash quickly from a nearby ATM, he insisted I do that after the haircut. But then, after the haircut, he demanded I leave my phone or ID as collateral while I go get the cash. This had not been clarified to me earlier. I told him I couldn't do that, especially considering what happened earlier with the homeless individual. He said he didn't care and that I wasn't going to leave without leaving something with him. When I made it clear that leaving my phone or ID was not an option, he went so far as to search my bag without my consent. He told me to leave some books or my laptop charger behind and when I said I didn't have any books his insistence grew more aggressive and he said I had to leave my phone or ID. With his physical structure being more built than mine, I felt unsafe and with everything that had happened up to this point, I simply wanted to get out of this situation. Wanting to avoid further confrontation, I suggested leaving my umbrella and muffler to which he objected and loudly said, "Who cares about that, it's just trash!" Ultimately, I declared I was going to leave my umbrella and muffler behind while I get the cash and walked out. I got the cash, left it on his desk, grabbed my stuff, and left without saying a word."
