"I am only leaving 1-star because it is required to leave a review. This review is for ZERO stars. I’ve been to Urban Nail a few times because they’re close to my house and convenient if I need something basic & quick. I went to Lisa for a simple acrylic fill. They had done my full set 2.5 weeks earlier and two of my real nails had lifted from the acrylic needing repair. After calling several other people over to look at the cracked nails, taking a photo without my consent, and laughing, she got started on doing the job she was being paid for. Several other times throughout the service Lisa called people over to look. It was literally just cracked acrylic. She was speaking in a different language and laughing. I literally asked what the problem was and she acted like she didn’t understand. I also had to pull my hand away several times after the drill got entirely too hot. My nails were ultimately subpar and hardly worth the horrible customer service. You can find a better nail salon that doesn’t treat its Black customers as less than. Avoid!!!"

"I went in just for gel tip and dip removal thinking that the poor reviews covered only application. Unfortunately the tech only used a drill to remove everything, causing pain along the way and hurting my natural nail bed. His technique has absolutely destroyed my nails. They were very kind and friendly but I am disappointed by this lack of proper technique. You can see here on my pinky where he filed down so deep around my cuticles that it’s physically painful."

"Horrible customer service! Wendy is very rude!!! I used to go there because my friend told me she does designs. Every single appointment with her was always 20-30 minutes late. When I asked her to let me know before hand if she is running late so I can make adjustments, she turned into this rude, insincere person and took it on my nails. She never spoke to me or exchanged pleasantries with me ever! My nail appointments were this sad torturous events and I really wasn’t enjoying them! Last time I was there she messed up my hard gel and I asked her to fix it! Except that she yelled at me and became defensive and did not fix it! It became so bad that I left! Don’t worry! I found a better salon with a real professional nail tech who is polite and respects her customers I noticed a different behavior from her as I am a minority. She is nice only to certain ethnicities! never gave me good designs, I guess giving good designs are reserved for those ethnicities not me! She always was rushing the work and did not pay attention to details. Didn’t wash hands between customers and used the same tools without disinfecting them Do yourself and your money a favor and go somewhere else!"

"Yuna is literally the only person in DC I will trust my nails with. Her attention to detail is amazing and my nails always turn out beautiful. Love her."
