"I moved to Hanover a year ago. I have 2 rescue cats and needed a new vet. Paws Animal Hospital folks were professional and compassionate in my view accommodating their visits and will continue using them."
"Dr Freidland and her staff are the BEST! They take care of my pets like they are one of their own. I had a recent visit to an ER with my very high anxiety dog and they informed me that they could only do so much with how he was. That was such an insult when I was there for treatment on my very lethargic pet. Dr Friedland knows him and handles him professional and loving. I can't say enough for what they do."
"Paws has the friendliest doctors we love Dr. Friedland and Dr. Lantzsch! They’ve always taken such great care of my cats and dogs and even my foster pets! They have some pretty cute office cats as well!"
"When two of my animals were urinating blood, I took them in to see this vet. She only tested their urine and attributed it to stress from a new kitten we had recently adopted. She laughed about it, and did not tell me that this condition could lead to a more serious blockage which would threaten my cats life. . I was given an unmarked a vial of medication to give to them which I did I didn’t see anymore blood in the litter box or any other symptoms . Two weeks later one of my cats was screaming in pain all night long and I knew it was a blockage. The policy of this vet is to call at 8 o’clock in the morning for a sick appointment that day. The person who answered the phone said the vet would not be in until 1 o’clock and she could not do anything for my cat, but watch it. I knew the condition was extremely serious so I ran him 45 minutes away to the emergency vet. The emergency vet was great and cleared the blockage. I brought my cat back in to Paws the following week for a check up. Right or wrong I was upset that I was not told how serious blood in the urine was and I was also upset that I had probably paid triple to go to emergency vet because Paws falsely advertises they are open 8-5(most would assume they can help your animal during those hours but that is definitely not the case). . I have been a patient for a number of years. I voiced my dissatisfaction to the lady at the desk, who basically said nothing, but did take my cat to be treated. The vet I found out later was in the back room and heard me, but did not come out to assist her employee or to discuss the situation with me. Later I called because I had missed two of the vets voicemails. The girl on the phone first asked me if I wanted a blood test for the cat then almost immediately said that Vet was leaving at 3:00 and my cat could not get one. (Hours posted are until 5:00). Oh, I was also told I better be there to get my cat at 4:30 as that was the cut off time.- do they keep your animal if you can’t make it, I wondered.) I questioned about bringing him back for the blood test on another day(meaning more time off of work and inconvenience,). The girl on the phone told me they weren’t going to treat my cat anymore because of my complaints and started screaming at me and arguing with me to the point that all I could do was hang up the phone. Because of traffic I got there at 4:43 was handed a bag of medicine no instructions, and all my cats records I got home to try to figure out how I was supposed to give my pet his medicine and found a wrapped up unmarked vial with needles syringes included. There appeared to be nothing in the vial. I emailed the Doctor who had the time to write out a long letter (but apparently no time to talk in the am or give a blood test after 3,). about me a being kind to her staff & defending the inconsistencies in her hours,(she has a life I was told- my cat almost didn’t.). The vet claimed she waited until 440 that day for me to discuss the medicine (the girl at the desk was “to stressed out” to talk to me I was told in her email.). Her staff said on the phone earlier the vet left at 3:00 and couldn’t do the blood test my cat needed. I had to make a second trip back to get instructions on the minuscule amount of medicine in the unmarked vial and I was helped grudgingly and rudely I am still in shock and found another vet right away. I was also told by the doctor her staff is exactly the way she wants them, .(rude, helpless, and unprofessional,). In the vets email, she also reiterated that I didn’t take proper care of my cats, which was extremely insulting. When I told my friend about this experience, she said she has a really hard time getting her cat in to see the doctor as well. I never had a problem with this vet before, but this experience was enough for me to say I never want to go back there. If Paws is your vet and your pet Is very sick, plan on taking them to the emergency vet because you never know if a vet or tech will be there and Heaven help you if you complain about it."
