"Very appreciate your service I like it. Thank you so much."
"I hired Ben & Y because of all the 5-star reviews, although I now think most of them are fake. If I could leave negative stars, I would. I wish I paid by check so I could have put a stop payment, it was that bad. I called for a quote and gave all my details (4 floors, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, basement living area) and explained that I’m mid-construction (first floor) and needed a deep clean of the dust throughout the house. He was late, but that’s fine. I showed him the basement (about 2/3 needed dusting), and the first floor (needed to vacuum with my shop vac, nothing else—the floor was gutted). I pointed out the black bag with my garbage disposal in it and asked that they leave it alone. He told me that they’d start there, and I said to let me know when he is ready for me to show the second and third floor. After almost 4 hours (I was working on the 3rd floor and lost track of time), my kids informed me that they hadn’t even started the second floor, so I went downstairs. The owner was not there, and his workers were WET MOPPING my sanded, unvarnished hardwood floors and were cleaning the windows (again…construction area!). I told them to stop, and asked when they were starting upstairs and he informed me that they were almost done and to call the owner. So I did, and Ben tried to tell me that it was “a lot of work” and we didn’t agree to this. First, it should have never taken 4 hours to do what they did. Second, I did not ask them to wet mop my unvarnished wood floors. Third, we absolutely DID agree to everything, so he finally agreed to have them go upstairs. They took hours to do two bathrooms and did a mediocre job. By 9pm, the owner showed up. They only mopped visible floors (not under beds), and wiped large surfaces (dressers). They spent less than 10 minutes in my office on the 3rd floor, which is the same size as the basement living space. Very little was dusted or vacuumed. I’m still looking at massive amounts of dust on the shelves. But the kicker came the next day when I realized my garbage disposal was missing. We went through all the black construction bags looking for it, and while I didn’t find the disposal (I’ll need to replace that for $150+), we found my 3 cloth tablecloths (one handmade), a shoe (matching still in the house), a bag of laundry pods, a laundry bag, a basket, all of my reusable shopping bags, and more. They literally took things off the shelves and threw out my stuff without asking! I texted Ben and he said he was sorry and told me to look through the black bags he left out front. (I did, which is how I found everything else.) I don’t think the workers were trained, and I think they used the same mop and wipe on everything. The house did not smell better. Use Ben & Y at your peril. Or better yet, find someone else. (PS I do not think they stole the garbage disposal (that would be weird), but I still can’t find it.) Pictures of the dust left in my office, the dust/debris that I asked them to shop vac, the items I found in the trash, and my unvarnished floors which should never have been wet. Every day, I notice something else that's a disaster. Check out the windows. They did not use cleaning products."
"I appreciate that my house smells like cleaning supplies, but every time I look up, I see something that was not cleaned. I will start out by saying I told the owner of my concerns and he offered a discount on future services, but that will never happen because I will never bring them back. I wanted cleaning because guest had just left and I didn’t have time to do it or call my normal cleaning person before photographers were coming to my house the next day. The good: the bathtubs and bathroom counters were cleaned. Most window seals were wiped (not all). The bad: the toilet seat was scrubbed to now need replacing, no other furniture was touched, sheets were not changed, the guest room bed, dressers, and stands were exactly as my guest left it. The floors had been vacuumed with my vacuum which I know works, but the vacuum lines were not there. My vacuum leaves evidence when it’s been used - must have vacuumed and then walked all over it. What really got me though was the headboard. When I tell you there was still dust on it because it had never been wiped I tell you the truth. See the pictures. I could go on about the bathroom cabinets that had not been wiped, or the kitchen cabinets, or the dressers, or… nvm. I had walked through the house, pointed out some things they needed to address and let them go back and fix it, which they did, but I didn’t do that twice because if I have to stand over you to tell you what to clean, you should not be a cleaning company. I even gave them a box to put things in if they didn’t know where it went. There wasn’t much out of place, but I would ordinarily have put everything up first and since the owner said, “don’t touch anything” I didn’t touch as much as I normally would, but it was not a mess in here. When I pointed out one dresser that was in disarray, the cleaning guy said he didn’t touch it because of how my Bibles were laying on the table. He waited for me to move my Bibles and then looked like he was going to clean it. When they left and I returned to check, it was exactly as I left it minus the Bible’s I had moved. When I asked why they had not wiped the furniture, he said they didn’t want to use chemicals and mess it up - probably what he figured out after messing up the toilet. I have had several cleaners come - and would have called them if timing wasn’t a thing, never heard of this concern until now. Maybe they are good at Industrial cleaning or move out cleaning, but house cleaning is not their strong suit. I’ve found stuff in places that it makes no sense for them to be in - left gloves on the shelf… stuff on the floor… I’m not leaving the review to deter business. I’m leaving it so you can be prepared and make an informed decision. Two people from Ben & Y were at my house from 10:00am to 4:00pm so called deep cleaning. My normal cleaning person takes 6 hours to deep clean my entire house and it’s only one person. When she leaves, everything is spotless, my tissue has designs, beds made with fresh linens, my floor is not sticky - I can relax and don’t want to touch a thing for weeks. I’m trying to figure out what the heck Ben’s people were doing all day and Y I would ever call them back!"
