"What I don’t understand about Best Buy is how they are pretty much the only major retailer left that specializes in general tech/electronics and yet they still somehow do a pretty bad job with it. Employee knowledge is surface level and often flat out incorrect. Quality product availability is sparse, prices aren’t competitive, and online customer service is nothing short of disconcerting and bizarre. They carry so many items yet almost none are the best value for the money. And now they’re phasing out steelbooks which was pretty much the only thing going for them (when they were able to ship without damage). I’ll give them 2 stars because I have ordered a few things from Best Buy on the rare occasions they’ve carried a product I wanted, and those orders were generally smooth and the products work fine. I just can’t recommend the experience shopping at a Best Buy retail location. 9 times out of 10 it’ll be worth doing the extra legwork to find a local retailer instead."
"This Best Buy is awesome! I was just here today and my experience started out not so great. I waited in line for about 30 minutes and no one was coming over to help. But once someone did come over it was awesome. I don’t know his name but he was exceptional, he apologized for the wait and was very polite and had a great attitude. He thanked me for giving them business and overall was just awesome. Then the gentleman at the door was also very polite. This will be my go to Best Buy from now on."
"I gave this location one final shot this past weekend and I will say will all confidence that I will never return. After being talked down to and made to feel as if I was a complete moron last year for not knowing the difference in the plethora of operation systems offered on the hundreds of laptops Best Buy sells (I mean, how dare I go to the store where it is THIER job to know and educate the consumer, obviously I was in the wrong... how absurd right!). I shopped online this one last time, for 2 televisions to replace the very outdated ones I currently have. I requested curbside pickup and didn't notice until I got home that I was given an "Open Box" product when I have wanted and paid for NEW! I called for a manager that same Sunday at 1:30pm to be told there wasn't one on duty (also ridiculous considering it's the height of the holiday season and weekends are vital times to have an MOD). Nevertheless, I called back today to be told I would be transferred and that I may wait a long time for someone to pick up and possibly disconnected all together... whose customer service line says that?! I took to the online chat feature and was told I had to bring the TV back instead of just being able to supply the documentation for the "open box" product and supplied a refund of the difference. All in all, this is Best Buy taking no accountability and providing lack luster customer service at best."
"Anything tech based, this place is the 1st place I look! They usually always have something similar or better than what I'm shopping for. The staff, however, is a revolving door. The last few times I've attempted to shop at this Best Buy, I wad being "helped" bu people with rude tones or who I could tell didn't care much for providing decent, much less good customer service"
"My mother is hard of sight and needed assistance in finding a camera. She was instructed to go over to a desk where a staff member who specialized in cameras was stationed. This staff member, “Brad”, was at the time helping another guest right at his desk. But, he did make eye contact with my mother as she stood in his area, so my mother patiently waited for twenty minutes. After these twenty minutes passed and the second the customer in front left, so did Brad. He never returned to his desk, and my mother saw many different people approach him and him in return help them. He passed by his desk several times, making eye contact with her, yet never returned despite the fact that he had been making eye contact with my mother from the beginning. He never thought to even tell her “I will be right back”,”I will be right with you”,”Just one moment please”. He just got up and left with no word once he was finished, knowing there was someone patiently waiting for his assistance. If the next customer is patiently and quietly waiting, one would think you’d attend to them or even acknowledge them once you are finished up with your current customer. This is not the first occurrence where my family has encountered poor customer service at this location. The Bel Air location is 30 minutes out of our way but now will be the only local Best Buy receiving our business, as their customer service is significantly better, and they are very conscientious when wait times are high or when servers are down. The staff here at the Timonium Best Buy need to be retrained when it comes to customer service."
