"Corey came to our house to check on issues with our furnace and thermostat. He was thorough and knowledgeable and was able to determine and fix the problem. We were very impressed with the service and would highly recommend Holtzople."
"Holtzople recently installed a minisplit unit in our basement, which we are partially refinishing. We appreciated their professionalism from start to finish. We first met with Matt to go over our options, and he got us set up for installation. The installation guys were also great, and we appreciated that they were fast but thorough and respectful of our space. Matt then came back a few weeks later to wrap things up. We love the new unit—it makes a huge difference in our space. I should also note that Holtzople's quite was on par with another much smaller but well-rated company, but with Holtzople you are getting an established company with great customer service."
"In the summer of 2023, our 16-year-old air conditioner required service. The tech told me that the unit had been discontinued by Trane and parts were no longer available. It was fixable but was near the end of its service life. We began pursuing a replacement. Two new air systems from Trane were $40K+. Based on the recently enacted federal law regarding renewable energy, we pursued geothermal. We have a large yard with a pasture that was drilling "friendly." We got two quotes. In fairness to the other merchant (who was also highly rated), the quotes were surprisingly close, in the h$80K+-range. Before you choke on your coffee, you should know that there are a lot of grants, subsidies, and tax credits on geothermal. The local utility provides a $3K grant per system direct to the installer, Maryland provides a $3K grant, and there is a 30% tax credit. This brought the net cost down into the high $40K range. Still more than a normal system, but you will also get substantial savings over time because of the efficiency. Also, there is a thing called "Geothermal Renewable Energy Certificates," which is the equivalent of trading your investment in renewable energy to a utility or other who is required to invest in renewable energy but prefers to pay for the benefit of using yours instead. The bottom line is that geothermal pays you back every quarter--cold hard cash. Unlike a normal system, this will pay for itself over time. For me, it will zero out for cost in about 8 years, which is "worth it" for me. But I digress. I selected Holtzople for my install. Based on my discussions with Matt Morris, who was the face of the business and my contact throughout the process, I chose to hire my own drilling company (Negley's, who did a great job and has worked with Holtzople many times). Both Holtzople and Negley's came to the house to review the project, decide where to drill, decide where the brine lines will come into the house, placement of the units, etc. The companies pull all the permits and get all the sign-offs from the county health dept, division of permitting, etc. Negley's came and drilled the wells, four vertical wells at 265' each. Note--the drilling is messy and requires enough room to get the drilling rig in. Then, they excavated an 18" wide by 36" deep trench to the house. Note, you will have to pay more to hand dig if you have other utilities or stuff in the way. I hired some folks to dig the last 15' to the house. Then things kicked into high gear. While Holtzople (Shawn was the lead installer) was installing the inside equipment (new air handlers, backup Trane propane furnaces, the coils, the new WaterFurnace heat pumps, wiring, refrigerant linesets, etc), Negley's ran the plastic brine lines through the foundation and connected them to the loop pumps in the house. This process for me took five full days. Yours might be less if you have only one unit or a less complicated house layout. Holtzople also plumbed in storage water tanks. As an accessory, you can have your geothermal heat pump produce hot water through the use of a "desuperheater." It's like almost free hot water. Following this process, Matt returned to look over everything and answer any final questions. I have a few things to sort out regarding the Symphony web interface, but everything is functioning. My first full month of heating in December cost me roughly $100 in electricity. That's a far cry from $300-$400 of propane. Holtzople's service was outstanding. There were a bunch of people in my house for a week straight, but they were respectful of the property and tolerated my questions and direction. The equipment was installed cleanly and professionally, which is important to me. I like things nice and neat, and we came up with a solution to stack the units vertically with a wall mount. Matt, who used to own his own business, is excellent and explaining things and being a one-stop-shop to deal with issues. Overall, an excellent experience!"
"Simply put, Holtzople has earned my trust and my future business for all of my HEATING and AIR CONDITIONING needs. I have very high expectations when it comes to hiring a contractor to do anything at my home. This exemplary experience started with my technician Brian who was scheduled to diagnose my problem the same day that I initially called Holtzople. Brian's expertise enabled him to diagnose multiple issues with my furnace immediately. He was patient and super informative by answering all of my questions. Brian provided a temporary solution while very thoroughly explaining how dangerous my problem could become if I were to ignore it. He was kind, honest and extremely helpful with scheduling Matt to visit my home just 2 days later. Matt's extensive knowledge and experience working in the industry earned my trust immediately. I had zero plans to buy a new furnace two weeks before Christmas, but Matt's patience, cooperation and willingness to discuss my options completely put my mind at ease with making such a significant purchase. Never once did I feel pressured to make a decision. Furthermore, Matt did an amazing job of talking me through the timeline of my decision making process. I will remind you that I have very high expectations. The crew of men (Brett, Andrew and Shaun) sent to install my new furnace were top-notch. They cared about EVERY detail of their job down to the slip on shoe covers they put on to walk through finished parts of my home. I give their entire crew an A+ rating for every category and box I could be asked to check. They did an absolutely phenomenal job installing everything and I could not be more impressed with how clean and professional everything looks. Today marks the official first day of winter and I have absolute peace of mind going into the coldest months of the year. My new furnace is super quiet and has been providing me with non-stop heating comfort in an extremely energy efficient way! I knew the day was coming that I would need to replace my furnace, but I had no idea that the process would go so smoothly from start to finish. I wish to express my gratitude to the entire Holtzople organization for building such a qualified team of professionals in this industry! I highly recommend working with Holtzople for all of your heating and air conditioning needs! Jonathan Diehl Gettysburg, PA"
"From start to finish it was a great experience. Tyler in sales spent the time coming up with several new system options to help correct our issues we had with our current system. He provided us all the information needed to make an informative decision on a new system option. There was no pressure at all from Tyler that we needed the best/top of the line system but he offered the most practical. The install team Jordan and Brett did a great job. They were on time every day and kept everything neat and clean during the install. Brett spent the time to show me how the system works once they were all finished. Tyler came back a few days later after install and provided a nice binder with all the paperwork and manuals and answered all the questions that we had. We would highly recommend Holtzople."
