Reviews of Candlewyck
"First and last visit. Stopped in for a few drinks and to grab a bite to eat at the bar. The bartender must have been a little overwhelmed as it took a little time to ask us what we would like to drink. We received our drinks but she was off before we were able to ask for a menu, none was offered. We were able to get our hands on them after getting their attention. While we looked over the menu trying to decide what to eat, a regular received their chicken parm dinner. We looked over and it looked good, plated over pasta. The regular mentioned to the bartender the chicken parm was good but the pasta was gross. We decided against eating there, got the bill and checked out. A few days later looking at my credit card statement and noticed I was charged more than I had written on the slip which included a tip. I called to get it resolved and was offered the cash but I needed to pick it up or get a gift card. I live about 15 miles away so it would be too much time and travel to resolve their mistake. Filed a credit card dispute instead…"
"If you ever want an atmosphere or vibe similar to the show Cheers, you'll find it here, specially on Eagles Game Day. The waitresses are very nice and know all the regulars names. Food is also great as well."
"The place is a bit of a “dive bar”, but only in the best sense of the words. Food is really good and priced fairly. The staff is always friendly to myself and my family. Could the dining room use a bit of an update? Sure it could, but I think it adds to the charm. Check out the weekly specials they’re always on point."
"We loved our first visit here! The waitress was so beyond helpful with our grandchildren. She made them feel so special, happily cleaned messes they made and really gave us great service. Food was excellent and atmosphere was so cozy. We'll definitely be back!"
"We were in the area to visit peddlers village which happened to be very crowded like usual during the holidays and decided to find a restaurant offsite and within a few miles of there. Saw the Google reviews and pictures and decided to give it a try. For starters, when you see the name " bar and grill" or " pub and grill" in the name of the place you don't really know until you get there what is the real identity of the establishment. When we pulled into the lot you kinda got the " bar" theme right away since both entry doors had no windows. I personally hate that because almost always when you walk in right away everyone turns around and looks at you especially if you aren't a regular. This did happen but not to the point where we were turned off. Everyone who was standing around said" hello". It was full because the live band was about 20 minutes from starting their gig. You aren't greeted at the door so you have to walk past the big bar area to see someone who will seat you. There's not a lot of seating so you might have to wait. We were seated right near the band and it wasn't extremely loud like some places so it was doable. The people who were seated near us were very lively but very fun which added to the great experience. I only gave a 3 star rating for the atmosphere because of the "no window" thing which I know is petty and it's my personal opinion but also the furniture and decor needs an overhaul. Now what was a 4 star and 5 star respectively was the service and food. The staff and the band were very friendly and then there was the food. Oh my word, it was delicious. Our table had a cheese steak, Wyck dip sandwich, and two different burgers. The size of the sandwiches were very big and very tasty. The house made chips were a little bit overdone but still good. We had the cheese curds for the appetizer and that didn't disappoint either. Overall I gave this place a 5 star and would definitely come back."
