Reviews of Five Guys
"Five Guys is so overpriced for what you get. And this location has become kinda ghetto over the years. It's dirty. Loud-mouthed rude kids come in often to get fries. Vagrants outside. Part of it is this stretch of Chestnut that the city has, for some weird reason, let go wild. The burger was mangled, mashed, and a complete mess. No pride in presentation whatsoever. The employees are nice, though. The woman who took our order was older, super nice, with some great Philly streets personality. She is the reason for 3-stars, otherwise it would be 2-stars. I hope they pay their employees fairly and provide good benefits, because they are the only reason I'd come back, if ever. But they need some training on how to build and wrap the burgers - a total mess. And clean this place up, inside and outside!"
"First time I went there I thought the fries guy was hooking me up. Turns out everyone gets hooked up with all the extra fries. Great burger and great fries. A little towards the pricy side which is good in a way, otherwise I would eat there every day."
"If you order for pickup and expect the order to actually be made, they’ll make you look stupid. “printer malfunction” an entire HOUR before close is just a bit too convenient. Hire people who will actually work because the kids in there get paid to lie to my face."
"An Afternoon to Remember On days when I go out for lunch, I never know where my feet will take me. Working in Center City Phila is great – so many choices – so many things to do. Today, my feet took me to 15th & Chestnut Streets. I spotted Five Guys Burgers & Fries and decided to treat myself. I ordered a burger, fries (of course), and a sugar-free drink. While I was waiting for my order number to be called (#69) I went to get the standard condiments, but there was no salt. I can’t eat fries without salt…ack! A gentleman was walking by with a cart. He obviously saw that I was looking for something. He turned to me and said, “young lady”, do you need something? OMG, he called me a “young lady” and said it with a smile! I smiled and asked for salt. He told me to go sit down and he would bring it to me. I pick up my order ($21.00 for a burger, fries, and a drink – totally worth every penny) and sat down at a table. I began to unwrap the best burger and fries, took a bite and I was in burger heaven. The man returned with salt, took my order receipt, and said, “next time you come in I’ll treat you”. I smiled and said thank you – how sweet. As I was enjoying my lunch the man returned and placed $21.00 on the table – he paid for my lunch! I smiled from ear to ear. I felt so special - my afternoon couldn’t get any better than this. Two thumbs up and a big thank you to the awesome gentleman from Five Guys."
"This place is walking distance from Rittenhouse Square. Burger was good, but the Cajun fries were just ok. Packaging could be improved. Staff are friendly. Lot of place to sit and eat. Tasty food, that can be enjoyed once in a while, but regular eating will spike your cholesterol. Not an healthy option."
