Reviews of PHH Mortgage Corporation
"Be mindful when you sell your property and payoff your mortgage. They try to keep your escrow balance. They give you a bogus date of when they sent a check. They tell you it was sent to the company who did your closing. All lies lies lies!!!!!!! An overpayment is yours!!!! And it has to come directly from PPH."
"I see overwhelmingly negative reviews on this company. PHH took over servicing the mortgage on my late parents’ house. I am the estate administrator trying to sell the house. It took me several years to evict a tenant and the house has been in foreclosure during those years throughout the pandemic and eviction moratorium. I thought we had agreed to hold the foreclosure in abeyance to give the estate a chance to short sell. After we finally got access to the house we discovered that the tenant had trashed it. Our interested buyer who had patiently waited to submit their offer could finally see the interior of the house. The bank’s appraisal came in lower than they expected and they put my buyer’s short sale offer on hold pending a police report that they wanted the estate to file so they can file an insurance claim to offset their losses instead of negotiating the the short sale in good faith. Meanwhile the bank refused to stay the auction which is scheduled in 3 weeks. This is a bad faith maneuver. I have no choice but to put the estate into a bankruptcy action to stay the sale. Given these negative consumer complaints the bank regulator needs to investigate this company."
"I do not have mortgage experience with PHH as my lender, but dealing with them from a transaction coordinator stand point has been a struggle. It is difficult to get to the correct department when you need to speak to someone. Overall, I would say their systems are subpar. The one bright spot was a representative that I spoke with this morning, Marcus (ID# 192160). He was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist me in what I needed. He didn't just simply take a message, he was very proactive and efficient. He looked into the situation and connected the dots for me. I can tell he will be moving on the great things. Hats off to you Marcus."
"The absolute worst Business to work with. PHH mortgage reputation precedes itself. It fails to provide any form of reliable customer service and basic requests last minimum 30 days. I would hardly call this institution a business. I have to resort to seeking legal action to have such a simple issue resolved.Truly the worst customer service experience in my life. They outsource their call center overseas so no one communicates well. No one follows up. The list goes on. Even escalation fails to resolved anything. This organization needs to be investigated for fraud, theft, and complete inconsideration of people’s time and money."
"Pitiful trash. Zero stars. My mortgage was sold to PHH when I refinanced. I had asked specifically NOT to be sold to Wells, but I'm thinking now I should have put PHH on the list as well. Their customer service is non-existent. I use an app to track my wealth and PHH refuses to integrate with any external apps on the grounds that it "causes website performance issues and may raise security concerns". Clearly they don't have a networking infrastructure team or a cyber security team worth a damn if those are problems they can't figure out. They have absolutely NO interest in keeping up with the rest of the industry. They couldn't even be bothered to send a personal response when challenged on this; simply sent the same useless automated response they sent to me the first time. I would take absolutely any out I could to switch to a different lender."
