"I need to be clear about one thing: I am a food critic. Not literally, but as close as possible to literally. I've spent a ton of time in the industry and I don't praise lightly. This place has the nicest staff and some of the best Chinese-inspired food I've ever experienced. The Shrimp Fried Rice is fantastic, despite being a traditionally "whatever" offering. I can very clearly call it the best shrimp fried rice I've ever had. "You telling me a shrimp fried this rice?" No. A shrimp would be terrible at running a kitchen. Tiny arms. The chicken egg rolls are also solid. I don't know if they're made in-house, but their eagerness to sell them implies they're not happy leaving them in a freezer for a year, so that's a good sign. The atmosphere is a little weird -- They've clearly stocked up on random bodega-style offerings to keep afloat, but if you want a bottle of dish soap to go with your Beef and Broccoli, you've got it. Also, their brown sauce for the beef and broccoli is thin but delicious. The white rice drinks it, and so should you. Also, the portion sizes are massive. I'd steer clear of any of the stuff that doesn't sound like it belongs in a Chinese food restaurant. I haven't had everything on the menu, but some stuff is always put there for the locals without taste buds. If you ask whether something is good or not, I'm sure they'll tell you. For every miss, there's a grand slam. Find your thing, friends. At the end of the day, it's Chinese food. If you like Chinese food, you'll like this Chinese food. It's not going to change your life, but it could very well change your day."
"The food being cooked at this restaurant is beyond delicious! The Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Lo Mein, House Fried Wing Special, their homemade dipping sauces all excellent. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat that you will get your money worth as well as quality food. Take a trip to Nu Era Take Out; they always remember you and welcome you back with genuine hospitality."
"Wondering since when Wonton soup looks like this? Runny wontons similar to slime? I was too afraid to try it. I have tried many places but this was just unacceptable. The General Tso chicken was pieces of overfried dry chicken, similar to what you would find at a Chinese stand in a mall food court. The sauce was yellow globs! Not even the normal color or consistency of General tso sauce. But the chicken was definitely not edible. Lastly, my dad ordered shrimp egg foo young. I'm not sure what we received, but I don't think it was that. We've ordered that from countless places, and never seen shrimp egg foo young with no gravy or egg patty. It was odd looking. My dad didn't want to try it either. Considering all the good reviews this place had, we figured we'd give it a try. I never post reviews really, but I think I'm mad I lost out on my money and now my appetite."
"Went here for the first time but I'll definitely be back. Got shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg rolls. Both were delicious, but I've never had egg rolls so good. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!"
