Mesa Modern Mexican

"We love Mesa! This has become our go-to place for a good Mexican style meal. We have come a few times, and the food is always exceptional. Unfortunately this most recent time, we were turned away by the live music. Normally when we come, it is relaxing vibe. The music is normally at a talk-able level, and the overall vibe is chill. This time, when the live music started you could feel the change in mood among the others in the establishment. It was overall loud, annoying and the wrong style of music for type of restaurant. Typically we order the fajitas, and in general the were the same as they always are. But, we have noticed the inconsistency in the way that the meat is cooked. It varies often. The shrimp quesadilla is always delicious, as well as the sweet plantains. We also tried out a margarita flight, mango, blackberry, passion fruit and strawberry. They were all pretty good, and priced well! Our service was average. Nothing was out of the ordinary. The only thing that was off putting was the fact that the host had cleaned the tables to the left and right of us by directly spraying the tables in a very heavy manor. This caused the back spray to get on our table, and the fumes in the air. As a server myself I would have went about cleaning the table differently so that it had not affected others. We will be back though!"

"Had a great time at this establishment! Our waiter, Ryan was very attentive to our needs. Food was great! Frozen Margarita had a very weird taste, and we weren’t the only ones that sent it back. The Mojitos were much better! Will be back!"

"The restaurant was very nice inside and outside. The outdoor seating area was comfortable and romantic. Service was good. After you order food, the waitress brings corn chips with salsa sauce, and both taste great. We had: - Mesa Salmon - Fajita with shrimps - the beverage...u think it was hand crafted lemonade, not sure The food was presented beautifully, and it was quite a lot. We had leftovers. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the taste of sauce on the salmon. I don't know what was in it, but it was too smelly for me. I would've enjoyed the food if there was no sauce. I think if I was asked in advance, I probably would have asked to put it on the side of the fish or in a sauser. We eat halal only, that's why I had fish, and that's the only dish we can eat in such restaurants. Overall experience was good aside from the sauce issue. The rest of the food was very delicious. "Beautiful outdoor eating and delicious food! The chips and salsa were yummy, and I got a burrito bowl with chicken. I’m a big chipotle fan, and this was even better! My only complaint is the lack of protein - I expected a little more chicken in my bowl, but the flavor and abundance of other ingredients made it delicious. Definitely recommend coming here and trying it out!"
