"Went 2 weeks ago, something wasn't right with the food, the taste was off. Not sure what was wrong as we always order from here but when I took it back they made things right immediately.. no questions asked. I hate that they load all the food with black pepper but other than that, will return."

"I was skeptical. But, the food was actually very very good. The reputation the place has here is well deserved. The food was well seasoned, and without everything having the *same* flavor. I had fried catfish, cabbage, and black eyed peas. Everything tasted great without being salty. Portions were generous - one plate gave me 1.5-2 meals - for the price (around $15). Service was great. Not much of an atmosphere inside, but I don't imagine many people would be eating there. It'd be like eating in a fish market. So this just doesn't matter. I don't live in Philly, but I would be trying to get back here when do come back to visit."

"My first time and I will definitely come back. Ordered the fried chicken leg dinner combo ($8 and change) and it was a full, delicious platter. It was packed nicely and the fried chicken stayed crispy for my 10 min drive home. Plenty of food that I have left overs. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly and courteous. Currently, they’re setup for take out only because of covid. I recommend that you give them a try! Support our local businesses!"
