Reviews of Bearded Goat Barber
"$60 cut and worth every penny. Been getting cut by Aidan for a few months now, genuinely vested in making sure my cut is the right fit for me every time I come in. Front desk service always smooth and reliable. Make sure to book out in advance."
"Been a customer here for the past year and half with almost a dozen haircuts, and I want to give my honest feedback. Overall, while I appreciate the clean space and friendly staff, the haircuts are too inconsistent for a place charging $60 before tip. A few of the haircuts have been the best I ever received (and have been the reason I keep giving this place a shot), but the other half of my cuts have been very sloppy. I ask for the same haircut every time I go to the barber, and yet it feels like I walk out with a different finished product each time. Not to mention on a recent visit the barber cut and scraped me multiple times on the back of my neck (they apologized, but this was still very sloppy.) On top of the inconsistency in the haircuts, there is also annoying staff turnover. In the past 12 months alone I have cycled through 3 different barbers because they keep leaving. This makes it very challenging for customers who are looking to find a consistent and reliable place to get their hair cut."
"I've been going to Bearded Goat Barber for the past five years. I started going to the Ballston location then followed my barber to the Navy Yard location. I love the music, vibe, location, AND the free coffee and brew! Ken is also a wizard with the clippers! Highly recommend getting your haircut here!"
"My experience here was very mid. I paid $60 + tip and they spent 15 minutes not producing the haircut I wanted. The haircut was just fine, not bad, but not good either. Here’s what happened: - The appointment I scheduled 1.5 months in advance with a specific barber was cancelled less than two hours before my arrival - I called to confirm if the appointment was cancelled, they said yes and scheduled me with someone who was available the next day in the morning while I had work - I accepted this appointment because I have an upcoming business trip and was really banking on having a positive experience here (plus everywhere else was booked out on such short notice) - The person who cut my hair informed me that they were told this was a “touch up” appointment so they wouldn’t use scissors on the top of my hair - I asked for a simple taper fade and ended up with a low fade, which doesn’t even go all the way down to the skin (they didn’t touch the foil shaver on the counter) Overall, the barber was nice enough and the haircut was fine, just not what I came in for. I’m pretty disappointed I spent $60+ to get a 15 minute cut with someone I didn’t want to cut my hair. If I ignore the whole cancellation dilemma, I believe people should get the cut they ask for and $60+ for 15 minutes of labor is outrageous, especially with 45 minutes booked out. Therefore, 1 star it is. Barbershops are extremely important in community and play a specific role in allowing people to care for themselves. We all know the ecstatic confidence boost of a great haircut and the soul crushing feeling of a bad one. Unfortunately, I walked out feeling disappointed and kind of scammed. I’m sure there are some talented barbers here, but for now I’ll find somewhere else."
"Without a doubt, the best of the best! Steve is always professional, efficient and friendly. Yes, you can find places cheaper—but the quality and environment is well worth the extra few dollars. Also, their products for purchase are amazing too! Highly recommend for anyone needing a barber in the DMV."
